Wonderful bear watching

Absolute quiet, remote beauty, wonderful wildlife, including watching the bears hunt for shell fish on the stony beach!

Beautiful location best viewed from the water. Take a tour from Tofino. We went in search of bear and although we did see a couple, they were a long way off and we had to queue up with other boats that had realised these were the only bear on show that day. You'll need to wear the survival suits the... More

An exquisite, wild remote location: I visited here one time on a fishing adventure. Incidentally the fishing was Fabulous. We caught our limit of Salmon and released a lot.

We loved the view and the kayaking. Sitting at Shelter, Jack's outdoors (the pub) or numerous places in town was a view unlike the ocean beaches. Quiet, mountainous and everchanging.

A morning kayak at low tide reveals starfish, crab on kelp, ospreys, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles. Chasing Clayoquot is a good transcendental book to read to go along. This is also a commercial area so lots of boat traffic.

This place ranks in my top3 places in the world. The views, landscape, their people and laid-back lifestyle makes it to a gem. The nature is stunning too. Having lunch when a sea eagle is in a tree next to you, seeing dolphins and orca's cruising by when sitting on the docks is just insane. go and tick off that box.

I was in awe the minute I saw this region. Dotted with tree covered islands teaming with wildlife, what is not to love. Lots of excursions - whale watching, sea kayaking, fishing, just an awesome place to see.

So much to see when looking at it from the Tofino water front. Sea lions, lunes, gulls. House boat homes. Mountains in the distance.

Clayoquot Sound , along with Nitinat River , and Carmanna/Walbran were the reason for our visit . A little rain , we chose early in the season , so were expecting this . Worth every minute , though . Wish it was more accessible , but that would spoil the wild environment . Two thumbs up for Walbran .
