Despite the wind and rain, my day's guided saltwater fly-fishing adventure was well organised in adfvance by Jay at the shop. My guide - Flo - was there to meet me as planned at 7.00; his boat was ready, with 4 fly-rods set-up. Despite the conditions, he was a very capable and safe pair of hands and we moved around... More

I've lived in Tofino for years but have never gone out fishing. My wife and I bid on a charter that Clayoquot Ventures donated to the Tofino Streamkeepers so I headed out with some friends the other day. Conor met us at the dock and had us fishing an offshore hotspot in no time. He knew exactly where the fish... More

I wanted to try catching salmon on the fly. My guide, Flo, was completely accommodating. We started out with the downriggers, got a few fish in the boat, then brought out the fly rods. The early season conditions made fly-fishing problematic (fish were deep) so we went back to the downriggers, but only after Flo made sure I was OK... More

Went with my husband and older son for a one day fishing experience - We arrived at dock and the boat and our guide Connor were all ready to go. We first went about 13 miles for Halibut fishing where within less than 2 hours we had reached our quota. Unfortunately Junior got seasick and wanted to go back to... More

My wife and I had the fishing experience of a lifetime. Booked a 10 hour trip to go after halibut and chinook. The outfit is clearly well-organized and interested in providing you with a safe, enjoyable day. The boat and gear was in A-1 shape. Our guide, Blake, was knowledgeable, friendly, and completely helpful to us as novice ocean anglers.... More

I've been going to Tofino every year since the early 90's and can say without hesitation that Jay's Clayoqout Ventures is the best fishing guide service there or anywhere that I have found. They treat guests tremendously well, especially considering that it is serious fishing, not some sitting on a dock and have someone bring you a latte' kind of... More
