Not a surfer so that attraction point is out of consideration for me. The water was cold but definitely needed a few quick dips and all the fatigue of driving to tofino was gone.

We rented some 'beach cruiser' bikes (the ones that wont get damaged from the sand) and rode them up long beach. Bliss.
