Everything at the Saturday market is made by local artisans. There is everything from soap to pottery, food and jewellery. Lots of entertainment and tastes to delight as well. It is a must if you go to Salt Spring Island.

The Saturday market may be my favourite thing about Salt Spring Island. This unique market is full of treasures handmade from the locals, you will not see anything like it. Saturday is also the day when many of the local islanders come out and spend the morning or afternoon meeting with friends... Making an excellent opportunity to meet the people... More

Many street markets are full of so much junk. The SSI Saturday Market is different. Everything is made, grown or processed on the island, and vendors treasure the privilege of being there. The organic produce, baked goods, fresh pasta, etc. are fabulous, and blended in with fine craft work and fun and funky knick-knacks. The street performers are also often... More

It is well worth it to visit the saturday market. The trip with the ferry from Vancouver island is 30 minutes and breathtakingly beautiful. Driving through the island to the market is beautiful with plenty of hidden gems for photographs! The market is busy and parking can be a problem but if you are willing to walk a little then... More

Worth taking a trek through the market on Saturday for the fresh produce alone. Buy some Salt Spring Island cheese as it is way cheaper then buying it at your local Thrifty's. Fantastic fruits and vegetables as well, bring your shopping bag and cash!

This was our first time checking this out. Very nice, lots of cool crafty items and local food products. Everything appeared to come from the local area.

Made a special trip to Saltspring Island to go to the market on the recommendation of a friend. So worth it! The people, the crafts, the food, the artisans! Take your basket, camera and cash. Lots to see and buy. From fruit and veggies to art work. It is all here and the flavor of the locals adds another interesting... More

Don't miss one of the best "little" Farmer-type markets in BC. Held on Saturday and Tuesday in Ganges. Located beside a cute little seaside Park where you can lunch, snack, or doze away. All products must be minimum 50% local....so these folks bring the real stuff. Mushroom Guy, Scone Lady, Wine Dude.....all superb. Tuesday starts at 2:00pm.....go early. Buy your fresh... More

This was my first visit to the Ganges Saturday Market and it definitely won't be my last! I had been told about this weekly event a couple of years ago and have been looking forward to going one day! I was not disappointed! I thoroughly enjoyed eating my way through and bought done delicious cheese from Salt Spring Cheese, an... More
