Description: The Blue Horse Folk Art gallery was built by two Salt Spring Island...
The Blue Horse Folk Art gallery was built by two Salt Spring Island artists, Anna Gustafson and Paul Burke. This charming space houses their most recent works of art, and is open to the public. Anna's raku vases and lamps are always in stock, along with her other projects, including gorgeous encaustic paintings. Paul's folk art animal sculptures are joined by his narrative works, including the acclaimed Mrs. Drysdale's Circus collection.Come and enjoy the gallery, see the artists in their studios, and enjoy the beautiful gardens.

A little hard to find, but the exhibits are very interesting. If only we were rich enough to buy some of the artifacts!

The Blue Horse is on ill of our tours with house guests. Such a unique gallery, set in a tranquil garden setting. Paul and Anna's work is intriguing and eclectic. This is not "island kitsch" although many of the sculptured pieces are whimsical. Often, we are loans in the gallery, but a convenient bell brings the artists running from the... More

Anna & Paul have created a magical place, even in February! My husband and I went for a Valentine's weekend get-away and stayed in the unit above the gallery. It was bright, clean and beautifully decorated with Anna's artistry in many of the details. We loved it and look forward to returning soon! Paul & Anna are such wonderful hosts.... More

The charming gallery is set in pretty and peaceful gardens in the quiet north of Salt Spring Island. I was quite blown away by the gorgeous artwork and the humourous sculptures, especially those of Mrs Drysdales Circus. The gallery is light-filled, with salvaged windows and satined-glass, which makes for a wonderful experience while looking at the art pieces. It is... More
