Went on April 1 2012. The weather wasn't the best for views but awesome for what we were there to do. Have done a lot of log block skiing but this was different. Nice gladed runs. Beautiful open runs. The owners were very accommodating and helpful. Safety was paramount. We sign up for advanced/ expert not really knowing what to... More

We decided to try BRC instead of Valhalla, this year. We hit a good day with fresh snow, 20+ cm, soon after a series of storms, so the base was soft. The guide was very thorough and professional; safety consciousness was always his priority. It was very windy, so I think our routes were determined to keep us out of... More

Thanks for your review, if you do decide to return sometime, keep an eye out for an "Uber-Expert" group. We describe that at being for people who "like it steep, are happy to huck off cliffs all day, and will be faced with situations with mandatory air." It was designed to address the "ability creep" which happens when intermediates self-assess... More

These guys are laid back - but a first class operation! They are guest accommodating first and foremost - the guides are superb in all situations and they do the best they can to insure a good experience. Well worth the money and we will be back to visit them again! More

Great intro to cat skiing, you can go just for the day. They accomodate all levels of skiers. Very professional, excellent guides and well run, give it a try. More

Keiren did a great job finding new lines and runs on a low-snow day this week. It's tough to find untracked runs after over a week of new snow but we has a very good day. Fast loading/unloading and efficient instructions got us skiing quickly. Lunch is simple but filling and all members of the crew are fun to be... More

Thanks so much! Sometimes, though, I think that the accolades should go to the guests. When you still have such a great time even when the conditions are marginal, it's mainly due to your own positive attitude. We really look forward to having you back in a better snow year - if you can have that much fun with what... More

I can never go resort skiing again. Spent 3 days skiing with BRC, and it was one of the best ski experiences of my life. Despite the 'early season conditions', our guide (Julian), did a fantastic job finding great snow on almost every run. The whole operation is well run, the people are beyond friendly and helpful, and the A-frame... More

Been to BRC with the guys two years in a row now, and will surely be back this year. Great value (skied right till sunset), good tree skiing (with some nice open sections), and even if Red mtn is skiing icy…just 15k away it’s pow at BRC! Just beware of people from Ontario in your “expert” group! It boggles me... More

Thanks for your review! We also notice some "ability creep" - with some people who can get down a double-black diamond, but who aren't really expert, signed up for that group. There are sometimes people int the advanced group who are best suited to intermediate as well, and you are correct, this phenomenon seems to be related to New Yorker... More

Our Ski club booked a ski trip to Red Mountain.. The skiing was decent. Our trip leader sold us on signing up on Cat Skiing with this company. So 15 of us paid in full for the trip and the night before BIG RED CATS decided to cancel the trip "because it was not good conditions" We then asked for... More

It is true that all cat skiing operations have "no refund" policies, including Big Red Cats. While some lodge-based operations do not offer the opportunity to reschedule, Big Red Cats does, for up to two years, and it is fully transferable. It is very rare, but sometimes we do have to reschedule because of a high likelihood of a guest... More

The snow: on our days (29-31), was probably as good as I will ever see in my life, I can't believe how lucky we were. My Norwegian friends said to me "We've been looking for this snow for 12 years." - They have made 3 other trips to BC before for snow and have had decent conditions, but nothing as... More
