Avoid the crowds ski the most varied easy or challenging slopes. Great for kids awesome apres and accomodation, avoid the bustle and crowds at the large comercial resorts and have some fun family space at Apex Mountain.

Most of the mountain is on a rim that funnels back to the base area. There are some good groomers, and lots of steep chutes with great tree skiing on the margins. This is worth the stop if your in the area, and worth going out of your way to get to if the season is above average for snow.

we drive up to Apex for the scenic drive and the resort at the ski center is in a great location for viewing, dining, and access to the ski lifts. However, everything was closed when we drove up there in October.

The ski mountain has about 40 runs many of them steep and narrow, only a few blue and fewer green. The top is serviced by a good high speed quad with more than enough rider capacity to ski out the hill on a powder day is 3 or 4 hours. A second lift is an older double chair servicing intermediate... More

It's a little mountain compare to Whistler, but the runs are a lot more challenging and only a few are green or blue. There is also a huge drinking party constantly going on there with the locals...if you get to get in the gang

We were lucky enough to visit Apex on the back of some solid snowfall and it made the trip worthwhile. The mountain itself is quite small, with only 2 lifts and 2 t-bar servicing the terrain, however there are plenty of trees and runs to keep yourself entertained. That being said, it is quite easy to become bored with alot... More

Great recent trip to Apex. The terrain was awesome. Gunbarrel Saloon is a great place for apres ski drinks. Good vibe up there, highly recommended!

Very Impressed with my last visit to Apex Mountain Resort, such good family vibe! No lift line ups, and I don't have to worry about losing my kids on an overcrowded run! Not only that but the mountain itself had such a good atmosphere! Ice skating on not only a hockey rink for my boys but we were able to... More

We took a long weekend at Apex and we were blown away by this mountain gem. The weather was sunny and brilliant. The village was festive and busy. But on the slopes it was like we owned the place! Short waits at the lifts, friendly staff, great food and a comfy place to stay (we could ski right to the... More
