Host Lucas provided an entertaining and informative review of his wines and their unique qualities. Great wines too.
Did not have a good experience... The limo (a big group) arrived right after we got there and we were asked to share a tasting glass for this group. After one white wine tasting, we noticed that there is something in the glass but he told us to go to washroom to wash the glass by ourself. Finally we were... More
Stopped in on Sunday for a tasting and didn't want to leave. Luke was friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't try to stuff any snobby wine information down our throats. Just good stories, and lots of laughs. Highly recommend! (And the wine was great too)
Award winning wines in an intimate tasting setting. You are not on the circuit or pushed on by a waiting line-up. THe winemaker has greqat knowledge and great stories; he is passionate about viniculture and winemaking.
This winery was not part of our original plan, but the cute sign intrigued us (big dog lovers). Luke Smith (owner) was very knowledgable and friendly, I never felt pressure or hurried by him. This small vineyard is easy to overlook, but is worth the stop! Lukes wines' are excellent. Small tasting area if you are in a group bigger than 6. 2$ tasting fee.
The BC Wine Appreciation Society hosted another sold-out event January 2012 when Luke Smith, the owner of Howling Bluff Estate Winery joined us to lead two vertical tastings of his red wines. Luke is an outspoken advocate for the potential of the Naramata Bench to produce world-class wines, if only winery owners and winemakers would focus on the strengths he... More
