I have been going to evening yoga at this location but never took the time to wander. Talked my husband into a walk on our way North from downtown. We started down the beach on the right hand side and were treated to wind surfers and kite flyers displaying their skills. Then we scrambled over some rocks and found a... More

It's a small and very scenic little park. The lagoon provides a good place for birdwatchers to spot littoral birds. Along the walkway to the island (joined to the mainland essential by a rock bar/spit), there is a nice (no dogs) beach on the gulf side. At the end of the island, you may have to scramble up and down... More

This out-standing, water-front park is approximately 8 acres of natural beauty. A wide isthmus with a central path separates Piper's Lagoon from the ocean beach. There are benches along this path for the less adventurous or those with mobility issues. At the end of the isthmus, there is a rocky climb before entering the trails of the headland. At low... Used the park for our son's wedding and the location could not be nicer. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city this park has a great ocean view and is quite private and quiet. A wonderful park to casually stroll with your loved one.

Great place to go for a walk when in the Nanaimo area. You get some good views of the water from different places along the way. Can take dogs on leash.

This is such a lovley tranquil place. You can sir and watch marine life, ferries and boaters go by, or hike the trails for a wonderful view. Launch your kayak, or climb the bluffs. Sunset is particularly lovely, and if you are there for a super moon, the vantage point is fantastic.

Anywhere that you can go and sit by the ocean and listen to the waves is an amazing feeling. Beach to sit at, although it is rocky, you can go for a dip in the ocean, grassy area for picnic

I've been a Nanaimo resident now for the past 25 years. My family moved here in 1990 from Edmonton, Alberta. I love photography so Piper's Lagoon is a mecca for photographers because of its natural scenic beauty! Rocky trails, magnificent ocean views, bird life and short hiking trails. It is also ideal for picnicking and social gathering site. It's on... More
