LOVE THE SHUSWAP

Shuswap Lake is always beautiful and there are so many things to do around the lake! Just need to watch in later summer about Duck Itch on certain beaches!

We rented a house on the lake's edge for one week. We spent our time swimming, reading, fishing, hiking and sightseeing. The lake itself has lovely clear water that is warm enough for extended swimming. The one drawback was the noise from the power boats and jet skis, particularly on the weekend. There are some great hiking opportunities nearby, the... More

In 2014 we had 20 people on board (5 couples and kids from ages 8 - 20 years old) and in 2015 we had 18 on board. (With 8 kids from ages 9 – 18 years old.) All 5 couples had their own bedrooms and the kids worked out sleeping arrangements in the other six berths/cuddies between themselves - perfect!... More

For the last 6 years we've been camping at Scotch Creek on the Shuswap. It's turned into a tradition with all the parents from my sins school, we usually go camping for May long weekend, it can be a little chilly some times but we bring kayaks and explore the lake.

It is very good retreat back to natural lake and forest at the Shuswap Lake. Why I am saying natural that is not a tourists' style lake but more local Canadian style, you will randomly see bears, deers and wide animals in the area. So you have to be alerted all time. Family have a carbon at the lake front... More

I grew up in this area and I come back year after year to enjoy this location with my family. Our favourite place to stay is at one of the provincial campgrounds located on the lake as we enjoy camping with the family. There are many day parks yo can visit to enjoy the lake and do a bit of... An absolutely beautiful area, gorgeous little places running for kilometers along the lakes edges, with mountains in the background. A lovely looking spot to holiday

just a gorgeous lake, I've spend a decent amount of time in salmon arm and loved being on the lake. Stay away from waterways if you are going houseboating through. Their customer service is attrocious

You'll be sitting on the dock inhaling fumes for 3-4 hours before being allowed to leave and up to 5 hours idling outside their dock because they're understaffed. You'll have people screaming over the radio about how they're missing appointments and flights as well. The engine has to be running the entire time because the battery will die and you'll... More
