You can walk, bike. blade or skate from Valleyview to downtown Kamloops @ Riverside Park, up and across the Overlander Bridge with its exceptional views of the Thompson River, Overlander Beach and then all the way out to the airport past wonderful McArthur Island or along Schubert Drive up the North Thompson River all the way out to Westsyde, it... 1/2 a block from my new home, this paved trail winds for miles along the North Thompson River. It's actually possible to walk from Westsyde to downtown along this pathway. No excuses now.

We enjoy this easy, flat walk which incorporates part of the River's Trail. To do a nice hour-ish long walk, park your car at Pioneer Park, walk along the river on the mostly flat, paved walkway to the end of Riverside Park, then walk up to Lorne St, turn left and follow it back to 7th Ave, turn left again... this is a nice walk between pioneer park and riverside park - you can continue and walk over the Overlander bridge which continues on Schubert drive. Nice walk along the river. Benches along the way as well. Park at pioneer park and you don't have to pay for parking.

This is an easy, flat walk with lovely scenery to pass the time. In fact we were pleasantly surprised with Kamloops in general. We walked at rhe recreaction parks and the downtown river park. Interesting to see the levels of the past floods displayed.

Kamloops river trail is a great place to ride, walk, or jog. It starts in Valleyview and can go as far as Kamloops lake, my wife and I ride it often, sometimes putting on 50 klm return. The City has done a good job on this project and one of the reason we live here. There are washrooms, beaches, and... More

It's very easy to walk 6 km and not know it! Awesome conditions for a stroll with a great surface to walk on and wonderful scenery. A very extensive trail system covering much of North Kamloops and downtown. I walk it every time I get out to Kamloops from Elk Point, AB. Easy to meet people on the trail.

Great being by the River, I like it when the water is a bit lower so you can run on the sandy beaches behind the airport. Watch the planes coming and going and just relaxing with family and good friends
