If you are a train fanatic like my husband this will thrill if like me you just quite like going on trains it is not quite so awe inspiring! Several old trains and rolling stock to look at and a good way to spend an hour or so.

Sorry to report the boiler in the steam engine is under repair and the railway is NOT RUNNING these days. Very disappointing as we used to take all our visitors on it. We hear it's due back on the tracks next summer - if they can raise enough repair money ???

If you were planning on including this attraction to your vacation plans you are out of luck. The train has been shut down due to maintenance reasons and will not be running at all this season. They are hoping to have it going sometime in 2014.

It was the especially unique as Santa Claus visited each & every car, seeing all the lights in that area was pretty special.

For many years the 2411 engine sat in Riverside Park. Now it has been lovingly rebuilt by an army of volunteers. Open and closed cars have been added. Family-friendly specials include the adjacent Keg Restaurant, or Hallowe'en and Christmas events.

We enjoyed an excellent show and entertainment by the volunteers of the Kamloops Heritage Steam Railway who provided a spooky train ride! Lots of fun!

We spent an enjoyable Friday evening in the late summer taking a ride on Kamloops Heritage steam train. Although our departure was delayed due to the arrival of the Rocky Mountaineer scenic train, that in itself was interesting to watch. Local volunteers riding horses greeted the passengers as they disembarked from the Rocky Mountaineer. Several people in period costumes mingled... More
