Wonderful historic townsite dating back to the late 1800s. Kid-friendly for all ages of kids - my daughter loved the place from her first visit as a toddler, and even wanted to go back there with her friends for a birthday outing as a 15 year old. Lots of opportunity for visitors to get up close and personal with many... More

I went primarily to see the steam engine, but was quite surprised at how interesting the entire place was. Certainly worth the time to stop by, even better if the steam train is running. More

We had a FAB time at Fort Steele, we were only going to stop on the way home from our vacation to break up the drive for a couple hours and we ended up satying over night at the OLD Fort Steele Camp Ground (which is ALSO wonderful) and we had to go BACK to Fort Steele the next day... More

My family and I visited very recently and all were impressed. We had 5 kids with us ranging in age 10 - 16 and all had fun. The workers were all very knowledgable and friendly. The train ride was not too long but fun. The theatre production was absolutely great and done in a way to keep it within the... More

We have visited Fort Steele many, many times over the years. I went there as a child, took our first child there as soon as she could walk and returned again and again as our family grew. It was great fun for our family to participate in the street dramas, tour the town, make ice cream and even shop for... More

We've been here before, and returned again on a recent trip back to the area. It's fantastic. So much to see, that it fills up the two-day ticket. There's a very relaxed, authentic atmosphere to the place with a huge diversity of buildings to see. One of the highlights is the group of costumed actors who tour the town telling... More

When you'd like to know how people lived 100 years ago, this place is perfect. I had liquorice icecream (take care - your lips will get black after a while :)), my husband loved the steam locomotive and I bought sewing pattern for victorian-style underware :) It's really a great place for everyone who's interested in daily life of our... The costumed guides make the history of this town come alive. The demonstration of making ice cream in the 1800s was extremely interesing and fun. The show at the Wild Horse was very funny and well done with great actors. The train ride and dessert after dinner with a veiw of the valley was very beautiful, You get the feeling... More

When the railroad bypassed Ft. Steele the town declined until it was nearly a ghost town. Now it has become a lively and interesting living history museum. When we found out that our ticket was good for two days, we wondered how anyone could spend two days there. But we soon found out that a two day ticket is good... More
