My family were visiting from the UK and we decided to go to the local market at Medalta. While we were there we noticed the museum was still open. What an amazing insight into how the beautiful pieces were made, and the people who made it all happen. Also found all the old pieces very exciting to see as well... More

This museum, gift shop and workshop capture and preserve the art and business of pottery in the early part of the 20th century in Medicine Hat. It was very interesting and seemed to be good value for the money. It was fun to see some of the pottery we remember from our youth and strangely enough, still have in our... More

I liked learning about it's history. Who it sold pottery to. The workers conditions of how, when and where they worked. You could buy their pottery. They had a good selection of quality, style and colour. However it was way over priced. They didn't offer anything on sale. Even if you bought a tiny little cup you could put toothpicks in... More

There is an art gallery and a year around market center on thursday evenings featuring local produce in season, handicrafts and hot meals from booths. It is a very interesting place to visit and have a... More

Medalta has an awesome interactive display from the beginning of production right up to current pottery as well as an art gallery and space to host functions. We regularly take in the Thursday night market of local vendors and have supper there. The gift shop has unique items for sale at reasonable prices and the staff are always friendly and... More

We went at low season and were almost alone in the attraction which was great. The staff were helpful and provided good information on what to see. The old buildings have been upgraded with awesome displays incorporating the original pottery buildings. The history of all the various uses over the years was great. There is also local goods to buy... More

I have attended a wedding, a workshop and the market at Medalta and as varied as those activities are Medalta is an AWESOME location for all. There is a wealth of history within its walls; so much to see and to learn. During the workshop I was able to speak with the artisans working there and learned so much. Medalta... More

Friends of Medalta have done a marvelous job of restoring and recording the history of Medicine Hat's Historic Clay district that made pottery for all of Canade and throughout the world.

Our son was married here and it was a fantastic place. After the ceremony all the people were able to go through and tour Medalta. So much to see and everyone enjoyed it. They all said, what a beautiful place to have a wedding.
