The Helen Schuler Nature Centre is a wonderful place to spend some time and learn all about the Old Man River Valley; the eco system, flora and fauna. The guides are all knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. They run many different classes, and activities for all ages both in groups or for individual visitors and it is free!

The guides are excellent and informative-- a great place for kids & adults alike. It is nestled right in the coulee hills giving a context for nature right in the city. The high level bridge right beside it is a marvel to behold. Don't forget to wave to the train engineer as the trains travel over the bridge and count... More

Staff were welcoming and friendly, taking the time to advise us about recent spots amongst the local birdlife. Really enjoyed meeting Sophie the gopher snake and the famous Pegleg. The high level bridge area around the Centre is also worth a visit, very photogenic at dusk and dawn.

I have assisted them in the past by transporting school children at cost to the WATERTON LAKES Western Gate Nature Preservation Centre & have been impressed with their knowledge of Mother Nature in this corridor of the Province of Alberta. They need & deserve your support.

It's under renovations right now, but the trailer is still fun and informative. There was a very loud grade 3 class when my family and I visited, but once they left, we got one on one service. Peg the Crow is still there (I was there over 14 years ago when Peg first came in), and a couple other critters.... More

I can't really give this one a very good review as some of the paths and buildings were under construction due to flooding. The actual Nature Centre really didn't have too much to offer as far as nature exhibits. Most of the staff basically ignored that you were even there.

We didn't have time to do everything offered in this nature centre. The hike that we did was very enjoyable. The staff at the centre were friendly and helpful. I would visit this centre again. They are currently building a new interpretive centre - looks like it will be very nice. I would visit this area again to do more... More

The view of the bridge was interesting. The volunteers were knowledgeable and very helpful. There were many other things to see in he area including the story of an historic coal mine.
