We stopped by this place, and we went for a cruise along the lake, it was amazing the view we had, the driver of the boat was awersome and asked were we were from and explained and there was another australian couple on board as well, We took in all the sites and would love to see this again in... Part of a sundog tour also taking in the canyon. The cruise on the lake although the day was slightly overcast still gave us good views of the mountains, two girls in charge one driving and one doing the narrative - they were so enthusiastic it was infectious. On the way to Spirit Island they told us about the solar... More

Along the Icefields Parkway near Jasper is a road which takes you to Maligne Lake. The road to the Lake and the lake itself is beautiful, but don't go here without taking the boat ride to Spirit Island. You don't actually dock on the island itself because it is pretty small. You dock about a 100 yards from the island... More

We almost didn't go because it was foggy and rainy. We are so glad we decided to go! The fog on the mountains was beautiful! The boat cruise was great and informative. You could go out on the back to take pictures. When you arrive at Spirit Island, you only get to stay for 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend... More

We enjoyed the trip and the scenery was beautiful. I agree with others that the tickets are expensive and you don't spend a lot of time at Spirit Island. I'm glad I went but I probably won't go again.

Now closed for the season. We went on the last weekend of the season at beginning of October. We went on boat tour on the recommendation of other visitors to Rockies who had it on their must do list. We did enjoy the trip down the lake, our boat wasn't full, and it was a good sunny day, one of... More

This lake has been made famous by 'spirit Island', which was photographed many years ago and made this area well known. The cruise takes you a little over half way along the lake, to spirit Island itself so you can take a photo. It was certainly nice, but in our general travels we saw many islands very similar to it,... More

We took the cruise across Lake Maligne to Spirit Island. Just so tranquil and peaceful. Saw some black bears playing on the beach. Spirit Island scenery was just so beautiful, unbelievable. Had a great morning. Recommend this trip.

Excellent choice for the 5 hour tour to see the Canyon and Lake. Our tour operator, John Ward, was not only well-versed and interesting, he was so accommodating and went out of his way to ensure we saw everything we wanted. The lake was beautiful, and though others have complained about the clouds, you can't blame the company for Mother... More

This highly publicized and rated cruise would be wonderful if you could see the mountains surrounding the lake. We had two days to choose from and both were very cold and cloudy but felt it was a must do. In fact it snowed very hard on us during the trip even though it was Sept. I really felt we should...
