We had heard that Maligne Lake was a MUST SEE when in the Jasper area so we set out on the hour drive from Jasper. We had heard that booking the cruise in advance was advised as there was often a two hour wait to get onto the boat. However..... given that it was cloudy that day we did not... More

Words cannot describe how beautiful the cruise down to Spirit Island is. Yes, technically not an island but this was the best 90 mins of my 17 day trip to Canada. Sun was shining, was in the high 20's so we did see it at its best. Lake was so blue, mountains all around you. Just stunning! The 2 guys... More

Part of a package that included the Maligne Canyon and Medicine lake this is well worth the effort. Fantastic photographic opportunities and a very peaceful place (on the lake :-)). As with per other comments, not much time at the island and you do not get the chance to walk on it but I would prefer this to the desecration... More

The trip lasted approximately 90 minutes but you only get 15 minutes on the island. Once on the island you follow a marked out path which leaves no ability to explore. I fully understand why they have a path to follow, to protect the island, but the kids wanted to explore further. The trip is well run and the staff... More

Quite pricey (I believe it was $150 for the four of us) but worth every penny for the views you get. Spirit Island was spectacular. Some of the best photos of the Rockies came from this part of our trip. Also saw a fair amount of wildlife on our way to and from Maligne Lake.

Plan 45 minute drive from once you leave the highway, as the road is usually packed and cars stop to see wild animals crossing or just on the side. We saw bears

We were planning an outing to Mount Edith Cavell, but were unable to go because of a mudslide. We were happy to be able to get on a cruise at very late notice (we went right there and were able to buy a ticket for a cruise departing in 1/2 hour). My complaint would be that we had to pay... More

While in Jasper last month, we took the Maligne Lake Cruise tour to see Maligne Lake/Spirit Island and was not disappointed. Although the weather was very cloudy (rain was forecasted for that day), we still managed to capture the beauty and serenity of this lake. We booked the 2 in 1 offer (Maligne Lake Cruise and Jasper Tramway) and drove... More

The cruise is lovely (a touch expensive, but worth it for the unique views), winding from one end of Maligne lake to the other (and back, in 80 minutes), and of course Spirit Island is fantastic, as are the ranges all around. For the photographer in you there are few places that can equal the beauty on display! There are,... More

The day was sunny and clear, the natural beauty of the lake spoke for itself. The sense was we heard for what we got was it's a 'a rip off' said a couple of tourists to us. The tour guide positive and knowledgeable. The issue is $64 per adult for 80 minute boat ride and 10 minutes to walk onto... More
