The company were really nice, the guide/drive was also quite nice, not as chatty as most guides, but the wildlife search is just not worth the money, maybe we were expecting too much but I really don't think we were. On the trip all you do is drive up and down the highways and hope to stumble upon some wildlife,... More

Maybe the expectations were too high but the canyon run was a slight disappointment. (note that before kids we did the Fraser River in BC so our comparison might be a little high). Before we get to that let's talk about the numerous good things. First the staff were great. From the front desk to the driver to the guides... More

These professional young men were witty but serious. Made us laugh but never took their eyes off the river. Do not miss this experience. The #2 rapids is rather bland so go for 3 or more. Great fun! Will do it again and again!

Family of four (kids 12 and 14) on the Sunwapta River rapids on a beautiful sunny day in July 2014. Amazing experience! Was out first time doing whitewater and Maligne staff were great at making us feel comfortable and secure. It wasn't clear before the trip that Sunwapta's Level III designation was due as much to it's very cold temps... More

This was the first time I had gone white water rafting. This was also a first for my 10 year old neice. Our guide was excellent and was very hospitable. We were all split into four rafting groups, 6 to a raft plus our guide. Reserving the trip online made it very easy to plan our day out. We had... More

Staff were very helpful with reservations and selecting the right trip. We had a good run in the morning and then paid and went again in the afternoon on a different river. The white water wasn't difficult or scary. But the scenery and ability to see things from a different perspective was fantastic. We will go again when back in... More

This is what my son (11) had to say about the experience in our travelblog - bbtravellog.wordpress.com "This morning, after a restless night of sleep, we set off to go White Water Rafting in Athabasca Canyon, a river fed by a glacier (meaning the water would be freezing!!) At the office we met the rest of our group and filed... More

Our guides were highly skilled and went over safety tips in detail so everyone felt comfortable getting on the rafts. Our guide explained all his reasoning for the stops we made or upcoming places we'd be required to row which made us feel more confident in the boat. We hit lots of big rapids and ultimately got exactly what we'd... More

Our family of 4 with our 16yo daughter and 12yo son on their first whitewater trip went on the Athabasca Falls Canyon run (Class 2) mid-July and had a fantastic time! Maligne staff was very friendly, safety conscious and helpful with trip suggestions, wetsuits, safety gear etc. Our guide Darcy was awesome and really knowledgeable about the area including geology... Over 3 weeks in August we did a lot of travelling and activities but the white water rafting was a real highlight. Initially Though the 3 kids can swim (10,8 & 6) I was concerned that it might be dangerous but I was assured that the class 2 family run would be fine and it was. The whole experience was... More
