We did this hike today. It was incredibly worthwhile. We took the fire road all the way up and while the shortcut is probably great if you are a strong hiker, the fire road is a bit easier and the walk is scenic in its own right. Once you arrive at the first lookout (with the old hitching post for... More

Great place to see a different view of the lake and glaciers. Gets you away from the crowds too. Well worth the effort

Not worth the effort. Limited views, trails at top were unmarked. We did not know that we embarked on an even further hill leaving us lost on top of the mountain

We took the trail up Bald Mountain. On the way up we took the old fire road ( less interesting but easier to climb) and on the way down - the steeper, more scenic forest trail. When you reach the observation point close to the top, the trails are not very clearly marked. It's another half an hour or so... More

You definitely get the bang for you buck with this hike. It's not too long or too hard, but it gives you great views. Be sure to bring water and food. Don't stop at the view point. Keep going, you'll be glad you did.

It is a nice hike with a very nice view to the mountains and the lake.. do it and you will have a lot of fun. Please be careful and not stop at the view point, you still can hike to the top of the hill.

Excellent hike with 600m Elevation gain. Georgious views of the lake on the way up and down. Take the hiking path and not the fire road

See our review of Maligne Lake for details. If you in decent shape, and have 4-5 hours, do this hike to the top. You will not believe the views. Carry food, water, bear bells and bear spray. Use the bathrooms at the trail head before heading out

This great hike was a top hike for us in Jasper. Things to keep in mind, wear good shoes (saw someone on it in sandals and they did not make it 1/4 the way up). Hike books recommend taking 2 litres each. We took 1.5 litres each and were short. SO we should have listened. Take the cut-off through the... More
