A bit of a boring hike up the first section (~45 min)- then once you hit a horse tie-up railing, you've hit the money! The sights cannot be beat- you are now overlooking Malign Lake- too beautiful to describe. The hike from here goes straight up- no trees and past some snow piles- but worth every view imaginable. Find it... More

Very steep incline that you follow through the tree lines. Once you reach the first rest area, you are greeted with a 360 view of stunning mountin tops.

I won't lie. I found this hike difficult at times! There are parts of it that are very steep. There is the option to take a more direct but harder route to the summit. I chose to stick with the slightly less difficult trail. The trails are well maintained and the what views I did see were beautiful. Then just... More

A wonderful region for longer hikes, wild life, high mountains and scenic views. The walk on top of the Bald Hill is worth to be undertaken because of the phantastic lookout!

Read the review by Wouldlovetravelmore--it is excellent. I would add that we were able to hike all the way to the summit (weather was great), as well as the ridge to the "other summits"--spectacular views!! We veered to the right at every junction, coming and going. The ascending trail to the right is indeed longer, and not as scenic, but... More

This is a fantastic hike with rewarding views in the upper part of the mountain. From the parking lot just a bit further than the Maligne Lake boathouse is a wide fire road up the hillside. We had our 8-12 year old kids along and it took about 1 hr to get to the junction where a small trail goes... More

These aren't the highest points in the area, but you do get increasingly good views as you get higher, and the scenery changes as your horizons expand. There are options for shorter walks, but if you have the time and energy, try to do the full circuit.

If you're only planning one day hike in the Jasper area, I recommend Sulphur Skyline (near Miette Hot Springs). This one, though, ranks second on my list. Allow about 4 1/2 hours to do it justice. You'll want to do the full loop at the summit, and I'd recommend even going a bit farther (more details later). Trail starts with... More

Very nice hike, excellent views. The trail starts with about an hours walk on the fire road through the woods, but when you are above the tree line the views are spectacular to the lake and the surrounding mountains. We even met a group which encountered a grizzly on the trail only two hours before we passed. This made us... More

We do a fair amount of hiking around Canada and the US, and I had higher expectations for this hike. The road makes it fairly easy to go up and down. The views from the top are not spectacular, but you do get a very nice view of the lake and the mountains behind it. The "bald" hills that you... More
