How is Marmot only ranked #9 in things to do?

I love Marmot Basin. I think it is the best place to ski in Alberta (I have skied them all). The snow this past season was amazing, but regardless, it is a great place to ski. You... read more

I love Marmot Basin. I think it is the best place to ski in Alberta (I have skied them all). The snow this past season was amazing, but regardless, it is a great place to ski. You can access the hill from each of the four parking lots, unlike the other hills in Alberta. The chairs are fast, although I... More

Favorite ski area in the Rockies. May not be the biggest or have the fastest lifts, but it has character and the best bushwhacking of the mountain resorts in Alberta!

Very good hill to ski and snowboard on. The hills are well kept and the lifts are in good working order. Unfortunatly when I was snowboarding I fell down and was hit by a girl and when I went to brace myself for the impact I broke my right arm. I felt instantly it was broken. At the time of... More

We drove up the road to see the Marmot Basin, only to find the road closed. It was an extremely hot day and we didn't know how far we would have to walk to actually get to the top.

We have been to Marmot Basin many times over the last few years. We found it to be the best ski hill for family skiing. there is a wide range of runs from very easy to more difficult. Very rarely was there ever big line ups for the chairs.

This was the second time I've been here, this place is awesome, it's not very crowded, they have really nice equipment, the staff is very helpful and you can spend the whole day in there. I had a beer on the evening before heading to our hotel, it was simply great.

Past the skiing season, but we took a drive up to near the base of ski lift and were rewarded with some some terrific views of the surrounding area. On our way back down we came upon 3 mountain goats grazing on grass right on the edge of the road. We stopped about 25 yards away and eventually they had... More

We took the Sky Tram on the first ride up in the morning(9.00am)and were treated to a great sight as we had clear sky's and were able to see Mt Robson and the rest of the mountains ranges very clearly. Also walked to the top and as it was the first tramway walked up without many others which made the... More

I have been skiing at Marmot for 45 years. I have skied every major ski area in western Canada and the north west of the U.S. Marmot has great terrain for all, wonderful snow, non-existent lift lines, and the best little town to be based in. I love to stay in the Jasper Park Lodge. It is a wonderful hotel... More

Marmot may not be the biggest ski hill in Western Canada, but the variety and accessibility of terrain and lift carrying capacity means maximum ski time, almost never waiting in lifts and always having great terrain to ski in. The long season is also a bonus. Love it so much I moved here to be a ski bum.
