Well worth a visit

We just got back from a mini-vacation where we drove from Calgary through to Jasper, and then went around through Edmonton and back to Calgary again. Whirlwind road trip that was a lot of fun! We stopped at the Columbia Icefields and decided to ride the "icebus" out to the glacier this year instead of just walking to the toe... More

Wear shoes with good grip. The scenery is stunning and the bus guides are good. They explain the history and point out everything of interest as you travel along .The centre building is modern and attractive.

Going on the Ice Explorer was fun. Great to actually be ON the glacier to get a better sense of it's magnitude. The people looked like little ants when you looked back at the Centre. Ice was blue.

A must see! The guides provide so much helpful information. When we visited it was 60 degrees and we were surrounded by glaciers. Truly amazing!
