This summer my boyfriend and I took his two kids for a day trip to the Icefield Centre. It was EXTREMELY over crowded, dirty, and loud. There was almost nothing available in the cafeteria for food and the options that were available were a huge wait (burgers, fries, and such.) The snacks we bought were way over priced and the... This centre is right across from the Athabasca Glacier and there is a beautiful view of the Glacier and the Rockies from their parking lot. Stay away from the overpriced gift shop where they were selling stuffed bears for $189.00

Ok, no doubt their is price involved...but seriously, if one doesn't not go the ice field centre and walk on the glacier, they are missing out. It is the coolest experience, taking photos on the ice and holding up big chunks of ice in the air, it's amazing.

Visiting the Columbia Icefield is worthwhile; if you have not had previous glacier experiences! It was new for my wife, and she enjoyed it very much; however I am a seasoned climber and have spent months climbing, and camping on many glaciers throughout the world in past years.

This place is very crowded and noisy even in the off season. The food is high priced and poor quality, do not eat here.

we were at the Icefields Center to purchase tickets for the Glacier Skywalk. The Center is extremely busy and confusing. To purchase tickets for the Icefields Tour or the Skywalk, you have to line up in the same place, which is very busy and confusing. Then you have to line up again in another place for the Skywalk shuttle bus.... More

One of highlights of our trip, was a walk on the glacier, accessible only from centre. Wonderful views from terraces.

We were looking for some information about the Icefield Parkway and local camping, and since the skies were turning gray we also were hoping for some current weather forecast. We assumed something called the "Icefield Centre" would have all of that information. Boy were we wrong! All this place is is a big building looking for every imaginable way to... More

Basically a good pit stop on the way to Jasper unless you are going on a glacier hike. The glacier itself is a bit unimpressive although large. There is a lot of activity due to tour groups and excursions leaving constantly.
