The Ice Field Parkway road from Jasper to Lake Louise was truly wonderful but this centre en route was very commercialised with a fast food restaurant - we stopped for only a few minutes before driving on - very crowded with coach loads of tourists.

We were NOT thrilled with the quality of the food here. And the prices were rather steep. My one son ordered a meal that ended up so spicy that he couldn't even enjoy it. I guess it is a huge tourist grab so they don't have to be good, but boy were we disappointed!

The place was chaotic. Ok it was raining, but even at 10am in the morning there was just a wall of people as we walked through the door. People were wandering around not knowing which queue to get in. The long queue for tickets moved quicker than the one for pre-booked tickets, the service was very slow. Once you are... More

It is definitely a must stop when driving through as the glacier is a stunning sight. You can see it very we'll from the centre but you have to be quite lucky with the weather to get good pictures. We were there during forest fires so the view was very hazy. They have a lot of toilets (girls: no queuing!)... More

We had very high expectations of this but were disappointed. The queues were ridiculously long and the prices were way over the top for the various attractions. Keep driving.

We bought sandwiches and coffee but there is also a restaurant upstairs. Information was available, gift shop was a little expensive(aimed at Asians),toilets were clean and plenty of them.

1/3 of the toilets in each (men's and women's) restrooms were out of order, as well as many of the sinks. There was trash all over the parking lot. Arrive and prepare to feel like cattle awaiting slaughter as you queue in long lines to pay top dollar then get herded onto buses for short, uninformative tours that are more... More

The Icefield has shrunk dramatically and is not what it was. The rides/walk are expensive. Move on. Very touristy.

The Icefield Centre is where you buy tickets to the Glacier Skywalk. For some reason we did not know this and drove past the Centre about 6KM to the Skywalk. There is no parking for cars and realized that we needed to go back to the Centre. The line for tickets was short but very slow. The reason is that... More

We visited this area the first week of July. Driving from Banff to Jasper, we knew would pass right by. We hadn't decided whether we would actually buy tickets to do either the Columbia Icefields or the Skywalk. We figured we would go to the "Icefield Centre" and decide. We stopped and used binoculars to see what the people were... More
