If you absolutely have to say that you have walked on a glacier, then go ahead and pay more money than it is worth, wait in long lines and deal with the crowds, but frankly all of the views in this part of the word are spectacular and in some respects it is more impressive to see the glacier from... This a very interesting site with lots of interesting things to do and see. The ice field I'd spectacular and the nearby sky walk bridge and site is really exciting to experience

loved seeing this place again as its quite striking to see such a wonder, but also sad as it has melted quite a bit from when we were there 10 years ago which is really scary

The Visitor Centre gies you a good overview of the Columboa Icefields including a scale model of the icefields themselves. Well worth taking a walk around.

Practically a compulsory stop on the Icefields Parkway. We thought we would have lunch here. The first concern we had was the amount of steps to navigate to enter the building. As I had a bad bronchial illness at the time, I found the steps very difficult to climb, having to stop and rest often. We could not see any... More

End of season, lots of junk. Who looks for a clown fish or shark teeth at the Columbia Ice Fields???? Clearly selling to the Pacific market. Bottled water, $4 RIGHT BESIDE A GLACIER....nothing for 100 km so they charge what they charge. You kind of feel like you have to stop there...but don't. It is better to starve or die... More

The icefields are amazing. We have motorcycled through several times. Sometimes the weather can get you. We saw grizzlies off the side of the road not far away once. The facility can be dirty, crowded, overpriced. Just like so many national park areas in the US and Canada. But it is informative and worthwhile I think. These glaciers are retreating.... More

Sounds wonderful but does not live up to hype. Hugely reduced since my first trip. Exensive for what it is.

Well positioned opposite the glacier, with two styles of restaurant available overlooking the glacier. Large car park which I would imagine would be full to overflowing in the peak season. If you have all the information you need from the park brochures/internet and Lonely Planet guides and you don't need to pay a visit to the loo or purchase food... More
