Great waterfall with impressive views. Easy access with very short, gentle walk from parking lot. Not as impressive or as large as nearby Athabasca Falls or Maligne Canyon. So if you can only visit one, skip Sunwapta Falls. But, this is worth a stop to enjoy the natural beauty.

Another nice falls.. They are not as impressive as Athabasca falls but nice to see. They are only a few minutes off the highway and well signposted.

54 km south of Jasper and well marked out from the road. Car park is just a minute walk from the falls so easy to access. There is a bridge across the narrow gorge and viewing points on either side. The river falls into a gorge which isn't accessible. In comparison to the Athabasca falls there are not as many... More

My wife and I first saw Sunwapta Falls on our trip up the Icefields Parkway to Jasper. We had not heard much about it, but decided to check it out. Well, we were so glad we did. The beauty of the waters as it pours over the falls crashing down and billowing up in clouds of mist is a sight... More

This wasn't as stunning a fall as Athabasca or as cool a canyon as Mistaya. It is easy to get to. Be careful though the rocks at the viewpoint are slick and several people fell while we were there.

As waterfalls go these were not too impressive but still a nice places to stop, have coffee at the resort and then a five min walk down the road to the falls or can drive if feeling lazy

This waterfall is in a narrow gorge and shows the intense force of water as it churns through. The force is intimidating. It was difficult to get good photos but if you used a selfie stick it could be possible.

The bridge that goes across the upper falls provides the best scenic views. This is a must stop on the Icefields Parkway which is approx. 60 Km south of Jasper. To hear and feel the force of the raging water as it cascades down the canyon was an experience. Although the bridge that goes across the upper falls provides some... More

Sunwapta is one of the major water falls along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. It is located about 55 Km south of Jasper townsite. Access to the falls is easy, parking may be busy during the summer periods, but early mornings are pretty quiet. The volume of water varies according to the season, snow melt, and rainfall. In late May and... More

Sunwapta Falls is a very pretty waterfall — actually two waterfalls — close to Jasper. The walk to the upper falls is easy, and once you reach the falls there are several vantage points to admire the view and take photos. There is also a lower falls, but we only had 45 minutes to visit and didn’t have time to... More
