On the way down from Jasper you will pass a few waterfalls and Sunwapta Falls is one. This waterfall is very accessible and short turn off the freeway to park and walk to view. Very well worth the stop. Relaxing view and easy access to trails (which we did not go on)

Good as part of a day out in the northern half of the Icefields Parkway. Easy to get to. Need to be able to do about 600 metre round trip grom the car park with some short distances at a 1 in 5 ish gradient. Good for photography if rushing and spouting water is your thing.

Both upper and lower falls are worth a visit. If there in the spring, look for birds' nests in the cliff side. We saw a raven's nest with four chicks. The trail is well kept, and the walk is neither very long nor very strenuous, but is varied and beautiful.

The waterfalls is OK. It is easy to access the waterfalls. We are on the way from Banff to Jasper so it is logical to visit the falls.

One of our favorite stops on the IceFields Parkway. About 1/4 mile walk to get there from parking area (and pretty steep on the return) - but this diminishes the crowds - not a tour bus stop it seems. I really encourage everybody to take the 2 km walk down to the lower falls - very nice walk through the... More

a nice break from the drive , was surprised to find that there was Lady slippers flowering just off the trail from the parking lot to the falls.

This tourist attraction is very accessible on our way to Jasper. Aside from this, it is also a wonderful place to appreciate the creations of God. My family and another friend's family came on this tour. Our children were so happy and excited to see the falls and take pictures on the trees... There is no entrance fee and I... More

There are so many things to see on the Icefields Parkway, but the Sunwapta Falls and Canyon should be high on the list. A beautiful place to stop off, and not too crowded even in high season
