We went to the glacier in sept 2015, as part of a trip from Banff to Jasper. The scenery is spectacular, and to be able to walk on the glacier is awesome just the size and splendour of the place will take your breath away!!

You have the feeling your on another planet. The pictures do not show you how mammoth this really is. We arrived up on the glacier it was lightly snowing. As we disembarked off the bus the sun came out and you could see for miles. Its a must see.

A rare chance to take a bus ride to a glacier and actually have the chance to walk on it. Only problem is you are only allowed 15 minutes to do so.

It was "open" in that we could go in, but didn't know everything inside had already closed up. Didn't seem like there would have been much to see in there anyway, but you might like the view of the ice fields across the highway.

Took my mother here when we were on our way to Liard River Hotsprings. It's nice to read the information about the glacier and the bathrooms are nice. The store has lots in it but not much that is actually Canadian. As a result of this my mother wouldn't buy anything. She said she wanted real canadian souvenirs not mass... More

On the Ice Fields Parkway this is the only stop of any size. This where you get tickets for the Sky Walk and the glacier trip that takes you to the glacier and you walk on it. This is a busy place but it is large and can accommodate a large crowd. The view of the glacier is pretty good... More

The food here is terrible, we were a party of four and spent over $80 for a few chocolate bars, hot chocolates, and chili. Not at all worth it, as most everything was bland and tasteless - watered down hot chocolate and flavourless chili! Not many vegetarian options on the menu, either. The views of the glacier are great and... More

The Icefield Centre has many interesting displays. There are telescopes that you can use to view the glacier. They have a nice gift shop.

Sadly this feat of nature is disappearing at a rapid rate. You can walk most of the way up the old area where the glacier once was. If in the area, check it out especially if you have not seen a glacier before
