The building is located in Edmonton, Alberta. It is the meeting place of the Legislative Assembly and the executive council. In the summer, tours are conducted every day including holidays, every hour from 9 am to noon, and every half hour from 12.30pm . Last tour is at 4 pm and each tour last 45 minutes.Tours of the Legislature Building... More

Went here again on Canada Day. The grounds are huge &, manicured. You can see a lot, free & even easy accress to a bridge that has a walking path over the river. The LRT (light rail transit) goes right there. Much better to take that - finding parking is hard & expense.

Parking is a bit scarce but the place was uncrowded thanks to a downpour. Our guide, Gianna, struck just the right tone: energetic and humorous. The building appears to be in great shape and the history is very interesting. The chamber itself looks quite modern and is much more spacious than London 's, where MPs don't even have desks. I... I saw this building from a distance and thought it was impressive, so I decided to check it out. While it is definitely beautiful and one of the top historic sites, there isn't much to do because of all the construction. Apparently there are tours offered, as well as special events. However, I did find that the building itself and... More

The building is one of the historical sites within the city of Edmonton that has been well maintained. There is an interpretive center with guided tours. The grounds are beautiful in summer and lit up with colourful lights over the holiday season. Alberta's legislature grounds are also a very romantic setting, especially in the evenings. It is patrolled by security... More

I had seen photos of this and looked forward to it as a highlight. But the area is under heavy construction. But, you could tell, even before construction, the building was just much blander than the internet photos seemed to show. There was a nice stature of a pioneer family, and the pool out front was rather attractive, but overall,... More

Take the street car from Whyte Ave. and get off at the Legislature to avoid parking problems. The gardens are extensive and beautiful. If it's hot, young and old alike can cool off in the pools and fountains on the grounds. Check out the legislature building (by tour only). A great place to spend a sunny afternoon
