We live in Edmonton and visit Alberta Legislature building two or three times a year. During the summer they have several tours of the Legislature building several times a day and these tours provide great insight into Alberta's rich history. The grounds are huge and you can run the tail off small children and they will be exhausted afterwards. During... More

If this type of attraction interests you, then it would be worth the visit. But if you have no interest in politics and history of Alberta, then forget about it, go to the West Edmonton Mall or Telus World of Science. Before you go, map out your route to get to these buildings because the roadway system where the legislature is... More

What a beautiful outing for a summer day. There are a few different areas for children to wade and play in water. There are a few different food vendors, there could be more to give more choices. It was a very nice spot to go and relax. You can take a tour of the Parliament building if you like but... More

The Ledge as was as we locals called it is a great place for just strolling, family picnic and dates. :) The Legislator ground too is the venue to watch fireworks display during occasions such Canada's Day though you really have to come early to find a perfect spot. At night time the ledge will light up most especially during... More

The lands and surrounding buildings of the leg are the biggest surprise of your visit. The legislative area is accessible from virtually anywhere including the underground access from the LRT. Grounds are spacious with great landscaping, They provide a variety of tours both inside and outside, The swimming pools are used as a skating rink in the winter. A wide... More

It is not a destination. The grounds are beautiful and worth a walk in the summer. The skating rink and winter lights are fabulous. But the building itself is a "nice to do once" sort of thing.
