Really enjoyed our trip in early October! It was cooler and there weren't much crowds which made it more relaxing to walk around. We lucked out and got to see the Tiger being fed as well as a seal show and Lucy the elephant was walking down the trail alongside us. Overall I was really impressed with the zoo and... More

What a disappointment ,I expected more from Edmonton , the enclosures for the birds and monkeys are way to small and so boring for the animals ,many of the animals display institutionalized pacing back and forth which is so sad to see and so unnecessary in the year of 2014 --don't bother visiting if you really care about animal welfare... I hadn't been to the Valley Zoo in a couple of years and was "very" impressed with the improvements. Until the upgrade had been done, sadly our little zoo wasn't much to get excited about. We were very pleased with the renovations, it is now a little zoo that we Edmontonian's can be proud of. Our three year old grandson... More

We went to the zoo yesterday on Free Admission Day and other than the traffic to get in, it was a good day. The zoo is laid out in a nice fashion that meanders around to all the different enclosures and buildings. Most of the animals were out and about, it was a cool morning so a few were hiding... More

My first time ever in a zoo as a 22 year old woman. Took my mother here while she was visiting and we all had a great time (minus the 30+ degree heat). I would advise going during the fall as there is not much shade when you get further in. We caught a glimpse of Lucy who was hiding... More

I recently went to the newly renovated valley zoo. It was a very pleasant afternoon! There are many animals to see, but the favourite is Lucy, who often walks around the zoo with her keepers. The staff were pleasant and informative, even on a busy day! The new entrance is attractive, and the sea otters play in their tank, and... More

My parents took me to the zoo and I in turn took my children to the zoo, and soon i will take my grandchildren Yes things have changed, the train is now on wheels, no more butcher, baker and the candle stick maker. Chldren can still touch animals in the petting zoo. The... More

Nothing really spectacular at this Zoo. Grand daughter wanted to see the Meerkats, a new arrival at the zoo. Other than that I found things somewhat disjointed. Absolutely recommend Calgary Zoo over the Edmonton Zoo.

Small zoo looks like it has recently has a lot of work done. We went in morning on a holiday weekend and it was not too busy but by afternon there were long queues to get in. Putting aside the argument on keeping animals in Zoos on the whole the place seemed clean and animals looked well. A good amount... More

I spent half the day at this beautiful and amazing zoo with my wife, it is quite far from downtown and the bus that gets you to the parking lot only have routes until 11:00, so we took the route 4 at 9:00 and walked through a park and a natural reserve, we really enjoyed the view and the river...
