Big Square with plenty of outside seating. Nice water park area too. The Art Gallery, City Hall, Canada Place and the City Centre Mall are all situated around this square. Parking is located at several parkades in the area, all parking downtown is expensive where you will pay 15 bucks to 25 dollars depending on which parkade you choose.

I’ve visited City Hall just recently on a Saturday morning while City’s Downtown Market was taking place and was quite impressed with this beautiful building and its surroundings. Would recommend spending at least 30 minutes in here walking around the main lobby/ plaza to admire the lovely architecture (especially check out the ceiling), pieces of art scattered around the corridors... What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. During January and February you can skate outside City Hall between 1 and 4 pm and listen to a band. Great family entertainment. You can even learn how to swing dance and everything is free.

The city hall is a great place to read about some of Edmonton's history and see the chambers of the municipal government. The pool out front is fun for families on a hot day - a great way to cool off.

This government building is unique in its design as it's meant to be welcoming to the general public. For the most part, it certainly does that. The tours that are offered are pretty easy to get, fairly flexible and the guides are great in helping all age groups appreciate the history and importance of the building. A highlight for children... More

I visited this place few times, but the first time was when I was new in Edmonton and it was a good place to start knowing more about the city. The architecture is very beautiful and there are lots of pictures and early history of Edmonton which is really nice to know.

a nice place to shop, except that on occasion the people that run the farmers market get all hoity toity... had a friend busking there and we were hugging with some friends and they banned him for indecent conduct... overly redneck christian mentality.

Beautiful inside and out. Fountains outside are gorgeous in the summer and the light inside City Hall different times of the day for photos is just gorgeous! Lots of parking surrounding City Hall though prices for it are all over the place so do your research.

City hall is a great destination with the "lake" and fountains to cool off in. At one time, the city decided not to chlorinate the pool and people were not allowed to go in, but there was such a local uproar that it is now potable water and scads of people go wading and cooling off in the spray. City... More

It's beautiful, there are many food places nearby. During the summer it's a good place to just cool off for a bit. In the winter it is particularly beautiful when the twinkle lights go up.
