The Ukrainian Village really provides a feel of what prairie life a century or so ago was like. The kids were having fun seeing and learning. The characters in costume played their parts well. They made me felt like I was really talking to someone who were from the period and they are good with kids. The streets can be... More

This was a very enjoyable outdoor museum, whether you have an interest in Ukrainian culture or not. There are many different buildings and costumed interpreters, walking you through the arrival of the first Ukrainian families to a more settled town where they interact and are involved with people of other Canadian cultures. Our children's favorite part was the animals on... More

This 'village' is an outdoor museum of a re-created village a few miles east of Edmonton. Definitely worth a stop for an hour or two if you have any interest in the Ukrainian settlers in Canada. There are people in costume who chat with visitors in Ukrainian accents and tell them about their lives during the early 1900's there. Very... More

Great way to kill a few hours and get some exercise. The actors are really great at their jobs. Take big spray and good walking shoes. Try the borscht!

The guide tours allowed visitors to fully understand, ask questions and experience the village. Some of the churches and buildings are still used all year. The grass hut demonstrated how natural insulation kept things cool, or warm, as needed. Various events. Fully enjoyed this visit. Will return.

We went during the month of May. It was a cold, damp day. But we were able to do some baking with some of the people in the Village. The kids were able to do shopping in the old store as well as attend church services. But remember once you enter the church you must remove your hat so make... More

A step back in time. Our grandchildren 8&10 years really enjoyed the visit to learn more about their ukrainian heritage. They really got involved listening and conversing and learning about days gone by from the actors in authentic costumes&acting their characters so convincingly . It all became alive for them. The children were very impressed& we were impressed that they... More

The park is very authentic and the actors are very well-rehearsed. I was surprised the perogies were commercially made rather than hand made or from a local provider.

This heritage village is located east of Edmonton and consist of period buildings saved from across the province and relocated to the site and preserved. The best time to visit is in the fall for the annual harvest festivities. Tedmar
