The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is an excellent venue, where you can see the evolution of the Ukrainian population of northern Alberta has evolved over the past 100 years. I enjoy a quiet countryside walk and the choice to experience as much or as little of the park as I want. I've been here in the off season with very few people about, as well a time of celebrations. Both times were equally enjoyable and I love the fact that this park is full of Alberta's unique cultural heritage.

Just outside of Edmonton, this village shows buildings and farm life of early Ukrainian settlers in Alberta. A must see if you are curious about the past and a great family outing.

Old school village attractions like this are not unique, but I wouldn't hesitate to say the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is a special gem. How to get here: this place an easy drive east of Edmonton. It's close to Elk Island National Park, so wildlife lovers could potentially make a trip out of both places. Admission: closed after labour day... More

The Ukraiinian Cultural Heritage Village (UCHV) is located on Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway) about an hour's drive east of Edmonton. It is located on a wide spread and contains many buildings which exhibit what life was like in the Ukraine over a hundred years ago. There is a typical school house, a church building, a family dwelling, cooking the traditional... More

This was a lovely place, very interactive with the actors, the Cultural Village is an actual functioning village that has church services on the weekends, very Orthodox. Great place to visit without hassle of the crowds, restaurant services also. Its so out of the way though that it does take you back to the era that they are trying to... More

My wife and I visited this heritage village in September and after we paid our admission fee we were given a map which showed all the buildings we were not allowed into including the schools, shops and other places. In fact more places were closed than were open. I believe that we could have seen more places if we had... More

This is a pleasant place for a half day outing. The in-character staff have a good grasp of the history of the community this "village" represents. There are electric scooter type devices for people who have a hard time getting around, as well as wagons. There is a fair amount of space between many of the feature buildings, so those... More

We had a wonderful experience. This is truly a restored community. They have done a very special job of bringing in period structures and restoring them. The village was a mirror to the past. Take the tour. The staff are all period dressed complete with accent. Many of the buildings had a host. They were engaged in the activities you... More

This was a very fun outing as all the employees played their roles perfectly ! Lots of information was given on how things were done and they still do them that way at the village. They put in and harvest their crops with horses...very cool.Large gardens and wonderful food aromas are everywhere,a must to do! .
