The Inglewood Bird Sanctuary has a great little building with information and friendly staff to help you out. There are nice walking paths, and the river nearby. It's a great place to spend some time. And in the Summer, they have excellent day camps for the kids. My son loved it, and so did I.

It is still closed due to flooding so this review is from the pre-flood time in 2013. We really like Inglewood. It is very accessible within the city, has tons of parking and is reasonably priced. We particularly like all the informative/educational components they offer. The Sanctuary itself has fairly extensive pathways, most seem to be wheelchair accessible. It is... More

When I was much younger and still lived in Calgary, my mother and I would go down to the sanctuary on an annual basis to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and look for all of the returning spring birds. I haven't been there in years and was so sorry to see all of the devastation from the 2013 flooding. We walked... More

Great spot to go birdwatching, and checking out other animals. We have seen lots of birds, deer, beaver, coyotes and even the odd snake. Unfortunately due to the June 2013 flooding it is not yet open, but I drive by periodically to see when they will get it open. Lots of paths, good bird watching and some great views of... More

Even though there was some sort of dog class going on there and it was cold and started to rain, it was peaceful and beautiful. Not sure what damage the June 2013 floods have caused but I cannot wait to go back. Lush and green with a sweet pond in the middle to fish real fish at!

Yes, all kinds of birds gather here! Bring your camera! On our last visit we enjoyed watching woodpeckers, chickadees, ducks and geese. A couple of bald eagles were also perched on a tree. This is a nice little bit of nature in the city! Great for families and children working on science projects. Visit the Nature Center to get a... More

Inglewood Bird Sanctuary is free, easy to get to by car, bus or bicycle. The Nature Centre has gentle lighting, lots of information and staff that love to hear what you saw. It is a beautiful oasis in the heart of Calgary. Even though it was severely flooded June 2013, there are guided tours available.

Birds, birds and more birds. I once came here with a bird watching group because of the variety of birds here. Whether it's birds you want to see or just walk along the river this is a nice place to go. Don't forget your camera

Although some of the paths are still closed due to the flood in June 2013, this nature park is one of my favorite places to walk. It is serene, and if you are quiet, you will see much wild bird life, as well as the occasional beaver in the river along the banks where they build their dams. I have... More
