Great walk - lots of information in the interpretation centre, chance to see a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. On my to do list when I visit Calgary.

It is amazing that this is inside Calgary and not too far from DT or the river or the Deerfoot Drive (Parking lot). Went with a friend and could not believe the animals we saw and how close we were able to get to them. It's not just birds, but deer and beavers and all sorts of other little creatures... More

Do not miss this beautiful little park. Although, over the years, they have had to insist that you not feed the birds/wildlife, it still is a great little place to go and one of my all time favourites. The path is both paved and gravel (as you go farther in). The birds you see will amaze you. One morning we... More

I love going to the bird sanctuary, excellent place for taking pictures. In one day got pictures of deer, two owls in tree, tons of birds-which goes with out saying, oh and I fed the the prairie dogs :D Going back soon!

The surrounding City is almost far enough away to make it feel like you're in the country while in the Sanctuary. A number of different birds and even sometimes deer can be seen. The Sanctuary offers a glimpse of what the river valley forest and wildlife can be like when the area is protected by people staying on the provided... More

Want a short walk or spend a day watching birds, this is a nice spot right in the city. There is a small interpretive centre and some picnic sites along the river to enjoy.

The sanctuary is easy to get to from downtown and easy to find the parking lot. The nature centre itself has a display of some of the birds you can find in the area and a "flash card" game for guessing the calls of birds. There are washrooms also. No admission fee. The nature trails span about 3 kms and... More

This is a great little set of trails to sneak away to when you just don't have the time or energy to leave town. Even midwinter there were times we couldn't hear any traffic or see any buildings - I can only imagine how much more scenic it must be in the summer with the leaves and all of the... More

Not far from the Calgary zoo is the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Often you will find young students out and about sketching and learning about nature and birds. During the winter it is a peaceful place to go for a walk and take your camera, there are always birds to see and some resident deer. They have different educational courses for students... More
