One of our funniest visits. Thought we were in the twilight zone. Although the facility was open, not a sole was in sight...not human or horse. We drove what covered about 20 acres. All parking lots were empty. Saw 2 horses...in the neighbor's pasture. Weird! Actually, we were there during their off season and I think they were getting ready... More

We've all watched the horses jumping on TV. Well this is the place where it all takes place. Even if you're not into horses the grounds are something to see. During the Christmas season they have a beautiful display of lights and lots of activities geared towards family fun. If you haven't, you really must experience Spruce Meadows!

During my visit to Calgary I thought I would check this out. Not being someone who loves horses, I did find it somewhat interesting seeing the jumps and the arenas and that it is one of the top horseshow arenas in the world. It is not for everyone to want to take time to visit but I'm glad I had... More

Coming here for a show jumping weekend can be so much fun, and it is especially great for children! There's a play ground, they can get their faces painted, they can get free pony rides, there's horses all around, you can see the show jumping, music playing.....just so much there for little kids! My niece LOVES to come here, and... More

We just went to the horticultural garden show at spruce meadows today and paid $15.00 each at the gate to get in. What a waste of money it was! For such a classy facility and the amount you pay to get in, one would expect far more, a greater variety and several more quality exhibitors.

This huge horse facility, including several arenas and grooming facilities is world class. We visited with friends for an Olympic qualifying horse jumping event and it was amazing. The grounds are beautiful and the event staging was glorious. Even though we attend few horse events, this whole visit was really fun, from eating lunch next to several beautifully groomed fields... A must for a family outing, the pond and hockey rink are great to take the kids and the lights and fire make it an enjoyable spot, day or night.

The annual end of the Northa American circuit going to Spruce Meadows in September is tradition. Pack an umbrella and a sweater because a little black cloud hangs out over Spruce Meadows whenever the horses are in but you will always still have loads of fun. Something for everyone and check out the HOLLAND Pavillion ( look for the windmill)... More

I really enjoy going to Spruce Meadows. I never used to be interested in horse jumping but you can't help to enjoy watching and rooting for these horses/countries. Aside from the horse jumping they have a great yet very busy market, dog shows etc.. It's a great place to go with your family or friends. I highly recommend it.

Have been a few times and never disappointed. Had a friend from Germany during the Calgary stampede when we took a day and enjoyed Spruce Meadows. She is a show jumpers and dressage rider at home. So thought that Spruce meadows was the highlight of her trip. As she walked around the barns she asked questions and the staff spent... More
