The fun nights they do with a rock theme are great - fun music, the atmosphere isn't stuff and everyone enjoys a great concert.

The Philharmonic is trying new things all the time to entertain a new generation. They do a fantastic job of blending old and new.

A must do in Calgary even if an Orchestra are not really your thing, I think this experience will change your mind. The acoustics are excellent and no worry about getting all decked out. Come the way you feel comfortable.

My wife & I have been going to CPO for years. Because it is always such a cool experience, whether it's Classical, Pops, Baroque, Destination, Sunday Symphony for Kids, or in this case, Celtic. The Barra MacNeils were a treat, and they were joined at times by a local Irish dance group to add some flash & colour. And of... More

Came from Toronto, got a good deal on tickets and was not disappointed! On par with any orchestra in Canada. Was impressed by the repertoire, hall and quality of repertoire. It is worth it to pay a little extra for tickets, as the quality of sound is much improved on the floor.

Almost all reasonably big cities in N. America have a symphony orchestra. Calgary has a terrific one in downtown Jack Singer Hall. No city is attractive without a good orchestra. Without an orchestra a city is a cultural desert. You should attend it's performances and support it regardless if you live in Calgary or you are just a visitor. Visitors... More

I have taken my wife as well as friends to cool events such as "Bluejeans & Classics". they mix the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra with a big name talent from the rock or pop scene, re-creating music such as Led Zeppelin and Queen. All of the shows I have been to were fantastic, did not want it to end type of... More

Having such an accomplished professional orchestra in Calgary adds so much to the city's cultural scene - we're so lucky to have them. They make a great effort to offer something for all tastes, ranging from performances of the great classics, often involving world-class conductors and soloists, to pops and children's concerts and informal pre-concert chats to add to the... Calgary Philharmonic performed the 4 Seasons, my husband's favorite. They did a great job. Our seats were right above the orchestra. Unfortunately, the seats are really close together. An overweight man took up his seat and mine, ugh. Otherwise, the evening was great.
