After reading good reviews, and finished sightseeing in Downtown Calgary, we were looking forward to our visit to Kensington. How disappointed we were!! We expected a buzzing and atmospheric area, but found it to be lacklustre. There were less shops that we were led to believe, none of which really impressed, and the whole had very little appeal. Since returning... More

Kensington is a trendy little area with lots of great shops and restaurants. It's so fun to go on a summer day and browse the stores and have lunch outside. This area is easily accessible by C-Train (Sunnyside station on the Tuscany/Somerset LRT), which is great for travellers using transit. Highly recommend to visitors or locals who have not been... I am writing this review as it might benefit those who are visiting Calgary for the first time. If you enjoyed downtown Calgary, and has seen most of its attractions, don't miss Kensington. You can walk to the area by crossing the Louise Bridge, by CTrain or Bus or using a bike path. If you are crossing the bridge, look... More

This really is the only Neighborhood in Calgary where you can grab a coffee, groceries, wine and pick a patio within steps of the train station. The station is Sunnyside. At the moment (June 2015) two new residential buildings are being constructed on the T intersection of 10th street and 2nd Ave NW with another going up on 2nd avenue... More

Kensington is a lovely part of Calgary with quick walking or driving access to down town without having to actually be there. This area has the amenities, shopping one could want are here for all ages and activities. Located just NW of city centre it is a quick drive from here to the University or to get on to the... More

This is an eclectic area just off downtown Calgary. It has buildings going back over a hundred years (that's really old in this city) and some of the newest condo designs around. It's a very walkable area with lots of small independent stores, restaurants, other businesses, parks, old houses, and an old move theatre, all in close proximity.

I've loved Kensington for 55 years, since I lived there as a child. What used to be inexpensive inner city housing is now trendy, chic shopping, coffee shops and restaurants. Add lovely Riley park and it's about as perfect as you can get.

The area blocked out as the shopping district of Kensington in most city maps had a number of what looked like enjoyable bars, pubs and patios. However, the shopping was limited. There's a handful of boutique stores scattered around but none of them particularly stand out. It's worth a walk around, but don't expect to do much shopping. If you... More
