The staff were friendly, but they seemed to be short a few. The animals are well cared for and it gives people a fair idea of life on a farm. Lots of hand washing stations and lots to see. I would recommend that you bring a lunch, water, and good walking shoes (no sandles). This is great for younger kids,... More

I am writing this because of some of the negative reviews (ahem, two and a half year old "baby" wasn't free.. geez lady..). I brought a REAL baby (7M) and my TODDLER (3). The baby enjoyed snoozing in the stroller, and my toddler had a great time. I am a city girl through and through and wasn't at all shocked... More

This is truly a rip off of the highest order and the SPCA should shut the place down. The animals are dirty, housed in inadequate pens etc , staff are young kids who are ill trained. It is disgusting place .

Took my two year old son to this farm - what a disappointment!!! He is only 2 years and 4 months old and we had to pay because they charge a fee for babies who can walk. The farm to me seemed neglected - lots of building but all closed - animals closed...you can pet the rabbits and the goats... More

Our family really likes this little farm. You really can't have high expectations coming into it, but if you make the most of it, it can be so great! The novelty of going into goat, pig, rabbit, chick, and sheep pens and actually getting to pet and feed the animals is great, especially if your children have never been exposed... More

We live within walking distance, and I would much rather drive for a few hours to go somewhere else to see animals. Not worth the money. Admission fees are sky high, and you have to pay for babies as soon as they are able to walk - even Disneyland lets kids in free under 3 years of age. Everything costs... More

Went to Butterfield Acres Farm this saturday morning for their Legendary Easter Egg Hunt, and let me tell you there was absolutely nothing legendary about it. Actually it was the worst unorganized rip-off I have seen in Calgary. Granted the weather was terrible today, none of their fault obviously we were ready and dressed for it. The egg hunt cost... We were visiting Calgary over the weekend of our Son's 3rd birthday and decided to take the kiddos to Butterfield Acres Farm. The kids enjoyed it very much, but the farm was missing some key farm animals like cows, and dogs...which were two of the animal my toddler wanted to see. We did the hay ride, which was short and... We visted Butterfield Acres in Auguest with friends. In total five kids (10, two x 7 and two x 4). They all enjoyed the day immensely. We spent four hours having close encounters with a range of farmyard animals. There were also playgrounds. The whole farm is "rustic". There are hand washing facilities at every turn and at present the... More

We went to the farm today, I heard so much about it and we decide to try it for ourselves. It was not the farm that we expect to see, there were better farms that we've been before, a more organized farm, anyways, my daughter loved the pony ride that she went twice for it. There is also a park... More
