We live within walking distance, and I would much rather drive for a few hours to go somewhere else to see animals. Not worth the money. Admission fees are sky high, and you have to pay for babies as soon as they are able to walk - even Disneyland lets kids in free under 3 years of age. Everything costs... More

Went to Butterfield Acres Farm this saturday morning for their Legendary Easter Egg Hunt, and let me tell you there was absolutely nothing legendary about it. Actually it was the worst unorganized rip-off I have seen in Calgary. Granted the weather was terrible today, none of their fault obviously we were ready and dressed for it. The egg hunt cost... We were visiting Calgary over the weekend of our Son's 3rd birthday and decided to take the kiddos to Butterfield Acres Farm. The kids enjoyed it very much, but the farm was missing some key farm animals like cows, and dogs...which were two of the animal my toddler wanted to see. We did the hay ride, which was short and... We visted Butterfield Acres in Auguest with friends. In total five kids (10, two x 7 and two x 4). They all enjoyed the day immensely. We spent four hours having close encounters with a range of farmyard animals. There were also playgrounds. The whole farm is "rustic". There are hand washing facilities at every turn and at present the... More

We went to the farm today, I heard so much about it and we decide to try it for ourselves. It was not the farm that we expect to see, there were better farms that we've been before, a more organized farm, anyways, my daughter loved the pony ride that she went twice for it. There is also a park... More

Four of us went on a Sunday morning and it was fairly quiet with few other visitors. We went into all the various animal enclosures and my granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed herself. She also loved the pony ride. A little expensive but a nice day out for the kids.

We have annual passes to Butterfield Acres, and made it there for the first time recently. We went on a Friday afternoon. There are lots of hand washing stations, and while some were low on water - there is always another one nearby and if you alert someone to the low water level they will move quickly to fill the... For its simplicity, it is overpriced. So try to find a coupon or two before heading out. Otherwise, it is a great outing with your kids. If you are the type that is worried about germs or you are overprotective of your child, this is not the place for you. It is awesome to be in the pens with the... More

I work at a kindergarten and take our children to Butterfield acres every year. I also went to Butterfield acres over twenty years ago as a child. The children at my school love it, I have very fond memories of it as a child too. I'm not quite sure what people are expecting. It's a petting zoo not a working... More

I fully accept that this children's petting farm in Calgary, is intended for families with young children, who can fully interact with the animals. Yes, that's a great idea. However, what is inexcusable, are the disgusting conditions in which the animals are kept, and whilst young children might not see (or especially care!) about this, to us as adult visitors... More
