At first this seemed a little pricey but the fact that they allow you to go up and down multiple times changed my mind. There were two bears and cubs part way up the lift and being able to make multiple trips to get the best view of them was great. The view from the top was awesome as well.

To get to the top you can choose gondola or open chair. Great sight to see Grizzlies. Amazing views from the top. Few hiking trails. Restaurant at the top with huge terrace where you can eat and enjoy the view.

If you go mainly for the view, rather than the buffet option (available at the base, not the top, but there are other dining options at the top) or the chance to see bears, I'd say it's hard to be disappointed. There are better choices for food and bear viewing (drive to Maligne Lake to see bears and other wildlife),... More

We decided to take this ride after reading about it on their web site. We were hoping to see a grizzly bear, and we did. We saw a mother grizzly and her yearling cub while on the gondola going up to the top. The view from the top is wonderful, and there is a restaurant and interpretive center at the... More

We had seen reviews of the gondola and the proud claims that bears were seen "virtually every day" and, indeed, they were seen on the day we were there - just not when we were around :-) Unusually the gondola offers a choice of open chairs or closed gondolas - the former are much better for wildlife spotting and the... We went up at around 11am, the guide said there was 2 grizzly sighting earlier that day at marker 15 but we had no such luck?! It is however pretty amazing views in all directions. We opted not to go on any hikes but there are a few that are available. We did the lunch bugger an ride combo for... More

We really enjoyed this gondola; it was a nice ride up, saw a mother grizzly and her cub on the way up, beautiful view of the mountains and could easily see Lake Louise in the distance. We had lunch at the chalet at the top of the gondola and really enjoyed the meal (cheese fondue!) and local beers available. Sat... More

We were here July 15th around 9:30am and we saw no bears. That is disappointing as we really thought from the reviews we would. The staff was mediocre in their helpfulness in the lodge, but staff at the chair lift/ gondola and above at the museum were nice and helpful. There was a haze in the sky from recent wild... More

This was really an kind of after-thought when we got to Lake Louise around noon and there was no where to park. I had read a little about this and decided to go instead of circling the Lake Louise parking lot. GREAT MOVE ME! Located at the Ski Resort area, across the road, it wasn't crowded, in fact I wondered... More

This was amazing. Go early to avoid crowds. Get $5.00 off per person for the ride and dine so it ends up costing only about $2.00 to eat. You can get this in one of the tourist books that are free at the hotels. The meal was good, great fish and salads. Take open air chair for best experience. Saw... More
