The experience, enthusiasm and attention to detail is unparalleled with Great Divide. Collectively Joel and Nadine have over 50 years of dedicated study of nature specifically in this area. This experience is more and more oversold every year. So my best advice is to book well in advance and enjoy.

My family hiked the with Joel at Bow Lake for an afternoon last week. It was perfect in every way. He gave us lots of information about the area, the geology, the lake and the animals. He took us up rocks and showed us views that we would just not have found on our own. It was a super way... More

Moraine Lake is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been and Nadine's guided tour made it even more memorable. We couldn't believe the slew of props she carried with her along the lakeside trail and pulled out at our various stops. She is amazingly creative, entertaining, educational and a hard worker! I learned more about the Pica that... More

What a great morning! Nadine took me and my 18yr old daughter along with another fellow out into the backwoods, on a combination of preset and make-our-own trails. We saw a bunch of different tracks: coyotes, hares, lynx, small furry things; scratch marks of wapiti, bears; learned about snow, grizzly bears. We saw a snowshoe hare bolt and followed it.... More

We went with Joel and six others (strangers) on a hike to the Valley of the Ten Peaks at Morraine Lake. Joel is very knowledgable and informative and was inclusive of all of us and made sure he had one on one time with everyone in the group. The scenery on this hike was spectacular and beautiful and we learnt... More

Our family went on a hike to Sherbrooke Lake with Great Divide Hikes and we were so glad we did. My family is not the most adventurous group but our guide Joel made us feel very comfortable. The logistics were easy and the interpretation that the guide gave along the way really made the day. I would highly recommend this... More

Our one day guided tour with Joel to the "Valley of Ten Peaks" was one of the highlights of our trip to the West of Canada: We learned a lot, we saw a lot and we had lot's of fun! Our 2 boys, aged 9 and 13, loved the tour too. Beate (Germany)

Today was amazing! We live in HK and wanted to really explore this lovely country. We were lucky enough to find Joel and get the snowshoeing adventure in. Wow amazing.... And the additional information about the trees, glaciers, wildlife from Joel made the event even more spectacular then just the scenery. It was also a nice touch when Joel pulled... More

Can a guide alone make a trip...yes. Nadine was like Bill Nye the Science Guy - but for snow. I tried a number of different varieties of snow shoeing while in Alberta from heli snowshoeing to remote long distance snowshoeing, to guided backcountry snowshoeing. But the most educational and rewarding was my snowshoe with Great Divide Nature Interpretation. Under Nadine’s... More

My brother and I are pretty adventurous people and wanted to go off the beaten path and snowshoe in areas where few travel. Joel took us near the Crowfoot Glacier and we had a blast! He's so knowledgable about the area. He spoted lynx tracks and taught us about the different types of flora and fauna (bc we were so... More
