Good at any time of the year, but much prettier in the Winter. Don't follow the Darwin Award candidates out onto the ice at the Falls. Please simply enjoy walking around on solid land and try morning light for the best photos. High water in June is also impressive. Walk the riverside trail and get the view from 200m up... More

Follow the river to and past the Bow Falls and lookout. You can follow the river for kms, and the trails are well maintained

The falls are pretty spectacular when they're flowing but in winter they take on a whole different character. Mostly they're frozen but there's always a piece thats flowing and they make great pictures and screen savers!

We always go to Bow Falls and take a few photos (subjective...at least 10 or more). Some days it can be quiet busy with tourists but aim for early morning...there are fewer people around and you'll get better photos without other people photo bombing them. Our last visit was quite surprising. We were the only people there! Seriously! It was... More

The entire trip took us about two hours in the winter. Definitely wear ice cleats or yaktrax/korkers at a minimum, we found slippery areas. The frozen falls are beautiful and numerous. You do not need a tour guide as the trail is well marked and safe. Remember that park facilities are closed in the winter, although there are pit latrines... More

An easy walk out the back of the hotel past the waldhaus pub. This is beautiful and a must on a sunny day.

So beautiful…make sure you walk to the top! There are kayaks available to rent at the bottom of the falls.

Seeing the Bow Falls frozen over with a little river running from it was a very pretty winter site. It is an easy to get to view with walking trails around the area

I was not sure how much we would get to enjoy when we went to see them in January this year (2014) however even frozen over they are worth the quick diversion. We got to take some beautiful photos and we followed the rivers up a little way (and were brave (following other "brave" (or stupid) people) onto the snow... More
