A worthwhile stop for some great phot opportunities. Not a tall impressive waterfall like niagracor Victoria falls, but overall scenic nonetheless.

I've seen many falls, this was really just nice to see while taking a walk, not something you have to see while in Banff.

We were staying nearby at the Rimrock Hotel and happened across this small waterfall. It was not the most impressive waterfall by any stretch of the imagination (prefer Athabasca Falls near Jasper), but worth a quick look if you are in the area.

Hiked around and spent time admiring the falls. Gushing water cascading along a park makes this a treasure.

Gorgeous scenery, great place to have a picnic lunch. Took some pictures by the falls and skipped rocks in the river. Worth checking out.

It's a small fall, but the whole area is so beautiful. Best of all, it was opened in mid-April. It was a bit cold and windy when I was there. Just bring a jacket and a nice camera.

We liked the way the parking and view points were located. We were able to walk down on the dry riverbed and actually look up at the falls. Fantastic view with some ice accumulated on the falls. The water had carved out portions of the ice and made smaller falls. You could walk to the top of the observation point... More

We came across the falls trail whilst cycling along the river. The falls themselves a great. You can stand and watch them forever. Although the falls were great it was the view from the bottom of them that stunned us. It view down the river from the carpark took the crown of 'best view in Canada so far' for us.... More

Bow Falls is located adjacent to the Banff Springs Hotel. There is a small parking lot(follow the signs from Spray Avenue) that gives viewing access for the falls themselves. We drove and parked and walked along some of the trail system to have a look a both the fall and the Bow River. Very beautiful location with the sound of... More

Niagara it is not. But it is a pretty stop. There are walking trails that take you above the falls for excellent views as well. The parking is plentiful and in the summer so are the tourists. But if you are going to go explore the Banff springs make sure you hit Bow Falls as well as they are seconds... More
