This was a 4 day horseback lodge trip. The lodges were wonderful, off the grid and peaceful. The staff are really committed to providing a great experience, the company takes good care of their animals and we appreciated the home style cooking at the lodges. This trip is likely better suited for people who have done some riding although they... More

We chose Banff for our first anniversary vacation. During the 1-week adventure, we took advantage of many of the activities Banff has to offer. The 3-hour Sulphur Mountain horseback ride was one of our favorites! During those few hours, we saw everything from Bow Falls to peaceful trails in the woods to fantastic views of the mountains and the Fairmont.... More

I spent an hour on horseback riding through the woods and over the streams in Banff. I did an hours ride, should have done 3! Such fabulous scenery & very relaxing. Thanks Jon for a lovely last morning

The trip was great! Three days, 5-6 hours riding every day. Banff is beautiful, horses are nice, each one with different character. The boots and the cowboy hat helped to protect from bushes, branches and rain. Just a word of warning - most of the negative reviews below are from short trip participants. During a short trip a guide has... More

Went on the back country photography trip August 2014 with Raymond Gehman - Loved it! The horses were in great shape for the riggers of the ride and well cared for. Back Country guides Greg and Kate were both knowlegable and personable making them a pleasure to spend time with. Greg plays a mean guitar at the camp fire and... More

We did the lunch trip in the covered wagon (horse back was also available). The staff were friendly and made every effort to make sure we all had a good time! The steak cook out was wonderful, with all the accompanying sides you could wish for! I would highly recommend this trip to all regardless of age!

We were looking for a relaxing trip out in the Banff area but didn't fancy actual horseback riding. Holiday on Horseback provided an ideal compromise - an hours trip in a covered wagon from the Warner Stables, up the mountainside to a covered area where an absolutely delicious steak meal was cooked and served before we set off back in... My friend and I booked the 2 day Sundance Lodge overnight trip, what an adventure it was, we had the most amazing time! Horses were great, so were our guides. We took off on a Saturday morning and after about 2.5 hours stopped along the Bow River for a couple of hours while our guides cooked up the best lunch... More
