Want a lovely walk that's easy for all? Here it is.

So here is a walk that doesn't involve hiking, climbing (I do recall some stairs though) and still takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The area is also renowned for a variety of local birds including a few rare species. You'll also find yourself alongside the river which is gorgeous. This is a place my... More

Wonderful walk through marshland fed by the hot spring at Cave and Basin, as such a more interesting walk in the winter when the hot water environment more clearly contrasts with the cold land climate. Interesting that the native fish species has largely been displaced by Black Mollies, a tropical aquarium fish. I understand from my wife who grew up... More

This would be a good easy hike before or after visiting the Cave and Basin. Good for children or anyone looking for an easy hike. Only took about half an hour.

Trail loop is below Cave & Basin. It is a good evening hike across board walks from island to Islands in the Marsh land. Gives different veiws of the mountians but nothing really special about this hiking trail. Again this more a bird watching area than anything else. Sundance Canyon in the same area is more rewarding hike than the... More

Accessed at the cave and basin, the marsh loop is a short little hike, on fairly easy terrain and including a boardwalk where you can view fish and birds from the blind. It can be a little mucky and the weather can change quickly in the mountains, so always dress appropriately for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. A good... More

Another Town area walk that is good all year long. Watch out for Horse droppings in the summer. This trail can get muddy but has lots of bang for the buck. Be sure to take in the Discovery Trail boardwalk at the Cave and Basin when you're hiking/riding this trail.

This trail is close to Cave and Basin yet is great place to see waterfowl and several vantage points to get good views of the surrounding mountains. You may also see the water from the hot springs along the trail.

When you think of Banff you probably think of goats bears elk and caribou but here the focus is on snails. A little boardwalk around the marsh, didn't take long and is worth the trip.

The boardwalk around the marsh was nice. I didnt like that you had to pay to get into the building though.
