Easily found from Banff, up behind our great hotel - the Buffalo Ridge resort - there are fascinating rock formations and distant views to see, all with a very distant horn from the Rocky Mountaineer!

Very interesting seeing the trains go in tunnel and out through another tunnel. Have a nice model on mountain with train trail and tunnels are the viewing point

This is one of the must-do's around Banff, and very nice, but it took me a while to find the head of the trail, it is not very clearly marked (or maybe I happened to just have some difficulty finding it).

This is a great mountain hike for families. Not as hard as other but the views from the top are still very rewarding

not too difficult, and quite safe, convenient, as it is close to banff. we did it in about two hours, at a leisurely pace. everybody on the trail is very friendly and there is a lookout point with red chairs which is super cute. the view is basically of the town of banff.

A great place for a mountain-top picnic and one of the best views of the Banff town and surrounding mountains. It was not the most exciting climb up but the view was worth the endless loose gravel switchbacks. And going down takes no time at all. You will be glad you came. Bring a light jacket because it can get... More

We visited the Tunnel Mountain Trail on a not to sunny day. Eventually, the sun came out! Took a few pictures. I would have liked to see the train!

A quick walk up a moderately steep local hill, Great way to get good views of the locality. Took about 90 minutes return. Recommended

I am not in great shape but I was able to hike to the summit of Tunnel Mountain along this trail. There are places to stop and enjoy the panoramic views of downtown, Bow River, Banff Springs Hotel, Banff Springs golf course, and several of the surrounding mountains. The top has the classic Adirondack chairs and lots of rocks to... More
