Banff is surrounded by mountains ,so to be able to say you climbed a mountain in the rockies held some appeal for me. Having a knee problem I hadn't really done any serious walking for ages and I must admit to cheating a little ,as you can drive part way up.Having said that , it was still a decent walk... More

Was a nice hike with some absolutely amazing views but felt that the Sulphur Mountain hike was much more challenging and rewarding. And Sulphur has the added bonus of a gondola ride at the end. Saying that, this walk is a good one for perhaps those not quite as fit and the view/effort balance is fair. Also easy to get... More

Trail is well worn and very manageable for even a beginner hiker. Enjoy the all around views. However if you have limited time, you might be better to consider the gondola ride as it is higher but costs $

Due to grizzly bear warnings sightings the trail was only open for a short distance - but good far enough to view two amazing views of the valley and hoodoos - don't miss this view!

Tunnel mountain is a lovely, quick, moderate hike. We started the hike at 11am, but so many people were already coming down the mountain. The view on top of tunnel is breathtaking and beautiful and absolutely worth it!

We went in May, so no snow. The drive was scenic with big horn goats at the side of the road, the view from the lookout over Banff was lovely and there are some short, easy walking trails

This is really a must do if you're staying in Banff. If you have a car you can drive a quarter of the way up and park at a small car park and walk the rest. I recommend hiking poles. The trail is well marked and well maintained but coming down can be tough on the knees so poles help.... More

A wonderful hike - tho' daunting for someone like me perhaps not in the best physical condition. But truly enjoyed the experience and making it to the top to visit all the inukchuks, to feel the incredible silence and feel pride in 'getting to the top'.

Great view of Banff. Very nice easy walk, and a lot of wildlife to see. Unfortunately, there was a bear loose when we were there, o we did not get to the top.

Loved the views and proximity to the townsite. Not an accessible trail for the faint of heart or deconditioned.
