It was hard for me not to like this course being a fan of Stanley Thompson's designs (he designed many of the most famous Canadian courses). But it completely lived up to expectations and playing it on a clear and sunny Canada Day (literally--July 1st!) made it all the better. Thank you!

We just returned from our elopement/honeymoon in Banff and stayed at the Fairmont. While I'm not a golfer, I can appreciate the beauty of golf courses, especially this one! My new husband played the Tunnel 9 and loved it (I drove the cart). The staff was courteous and helpful and even gave us a commemorative stamped wedding golf ball. We... More

I saw this course from tunnel mountain, it was so beautiful! So I decided to play a round, my experience was not that great. First, I paid $70 for super twilight club rental - it was a well used set, and you can see couple dents Second, I was told the start would get me when my turn came, but... More

The Stanley Thompson original 18 is absolutely top tier, but if you ar looking for the Banff Springs golf experience at a lower cost (it's 9 holes) I highly recommend the Tunnel Course. This is not an "executive" length course but rather plays over 3000 yards from the blues, and offers the beginner or shorter golfer a fair chance from... More

To celebrate my father in law (FIL) 80th birthday, my husband and I along with my in-laws stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel for 2 nights and played at the Stanley Thompson 18 Golf Course. The weather was beautiful and the course was absolutely stunning. As my FIL put it, “every hole is inviting” and I could not agree... More

Played the ST 18 with three members who couldn't have been more gracious and friendly. The staff and facilities were attentive and made you feel welcome at every turn. They run a fantastic experience. The course is rife with tee shots that you just won't get anywhere in the world. Holes 4 & 14 are signature,of course, but teeing off... More

It is free to drive the full circuit around the golf course. I recently drove an American visitor around and never saw one wild animal as we were late afternoon. If you go early in the morning or in the evening the chances of seeing wildlife are excellent. Drive very slowly with the windows down to enjoy the fresh air.... More

We golfed in the economy 9 hole course. Ok but be prepared to pay. The wildlife on course was worth to high fees.
