This drive will give you an opportunity to see a unique view of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, and it will take you up to a spot from which you can park and then hike up the short hike to the top of Tunnel Mountain. From the top of Tunnel Mountain, you can see the entire Bow River Valley with... More

We didn't drive, but instead chose to trek to the top of tunnel mountain which is Banffs most popular hike. It takes about 1.5 hours to trek up, but the views on the way up as well as the views from the top are great! Its a must do if you are in Banff.

Do this drive if in Banff - we did it in winter and found wildlife - Elk - plus views up and down valley are spectacular and a short walk along the trail to look down on the hoodoos is well worth the view.

Tunnel Mountain drive gives a unique view of Banff but if you have time the main attraction is hiking Tunnel Mountain. It provides fantastic 360 degree veiw of the Bow Valley and is a very popular hike since it only takes about an hour one way. Great place just to relax!!

Easy to Navigate and somewhat scenic as you get good view of one of the mountains at sunrise. Also required if you want to get to the campground!

This is a nice drive if you have time to spare or want to take a scenic route back into town. Although called tunnel mountain drive there is no tunnel, this is a historical reference. If this were elsewhere it would probably warrant a higher rating, however Banff is in the middle of pristine wilderness and has so much else... More
