They seem to have spent a lot of money on the visitor centre, which is strange because this glacier probably won't be around much longer. It looks tired and a little dirty. There is no glistening romantic field of ice. What you get are myriads of Japanese hopping around, some stripping off, some risking life and limb to fill up... More

My husband said I should give this a three star rating due to the prices, however I feel the experience itself is worthy of a 4 star. The prices are rather steep for how long you get to enjoy this adventure. Two of the four of us bought a package for the Glacier adventure and the Skywalk, the other two... More

It was really cool! We found a package deal that includes the Glacier adventure, the Skywalk, Banff gondola and Banff lake cruise. So we did the Skywalk and the Glacier on the way from Jasper to Banff. It was a very good experience. First, you take a normal bus that takes you closer to the Athabasca Glacier and then you... More

The entire area is picture worthy from Banff all the way here. And standing on the glacier was definietly a unique experience and worth the drive. But, it is a long drive from Banff. About 2:15 hours, at least. Plenty of places to stop for pics but only one place to stop for gas or food. Pack some food and... More

This is a must do. The trip over to the glacier was a great time as the shuttle operator was extremely knowledgeable and a great entertainer. She imparted lots of facts and answered all questions. Time on the glacier was excellent and not at all rushed. definitely take the time to do this.

This is a special opportunity to get up close! Whilst the simple thought of a colossal machine such as "the Ice Explorer" on a glacier is virtually environmental vandalism in itself, at least conservation is at least considered by having a staging point where land based mass transport meets the ice based mass transport! And there is no mention of... More

I drove to the Icefield from Banff and it took me 2.5 hrs to travel, discounting the time stopped on the way. You can either take a bus tour or drive by your own from Banff. As I have family with kids, I decided to drive there. Lots of lakes and excellent views when you travel along the Rockies along... More

Relative to the cost of the trip out to the glacier, we found the experience underwhelming. We do live in an area of significant winter weather, so perhaps that is reason.

This is an awesome experience and right in our country , in our backyard, so to speak- One does not have to go to Alaska to experience or see a glacier! Even there, (when one goes on a cruise) one cannot walk on a glacier! but here one can! Wow it was just awe-Inspiring Exhilarating amazing experience ever-Worth every penny... More

We went on this tour with our 8 year old grandson, and all 3 of us LOVED it! When do you ever get the chance to stand on a huge icefield like that?! We wanted our grandson to experience this before all the glaciers/ icefields melt. It was a one of a kind experience, well worth the money it cost.
