Did this as a part of Banff tour. The weather was perfect for the glacier experience. Snow with clear sunny sky gave a clear view of the surrounding mountains. Although there is not much to be done on the glacier, yet the place is simply beautiful and it was an excellent experience.

My wife and I took the ride to the glacier. We got to walk around on it for some twenty minutes. From century-old photos we'd seen of this glacier, it's obvious that its forward progress has receded by several hundred yards, at least, over the past century as evidenced by the terminal moraine.

I went through there in May 2012, although it was cold on the day. I would not have missed it for the world. It was one of the many things I liked about Canada. Along with Jasper Lake Louise and Banff, If I couldn't live in Australia then British Columbia would be my next choice.

From the Icefield Centre, there are snow-coach rides on the Athabasca Glacier. There is usually a line to wait, because it takes small groups each time. It goes first across the road and then it changes to the special truck bus that is able to drive on the ice. At the end it stops for 20 minutes, it is possible... More

You want to walk on a glacier? ...Well of course you do! Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience - Informative driver narration on your way to and from the glacier and a unique life experience when you are there. **Do not be scared about whether you can do this** I was *so* scared about venturing on this tour - limited mobility... It is our first time seeing and stepping on Glaciers and we have to say that it is an amazing experience. Our guide is awesome and provide valuable information along the ride about the history of the Glacier. It is heartbreaking to hear that the Glacier has been shrinking dramatically for the past years from the position in Glacier View... More

Very fun experience to walk on Athabasca Glacier. Buses take you across the street where you board special vehicles to take you onto glacier. It is a 20 minute ride to glacier. Driver provides narration and information during the ride. When you arrive at glacier, you have 20 minutes to walk around or you may stay on bus. Great for... More

Engineering feat, up close and personal with beautiful glacier. Walk out on glass floor 1200 feet above mountain floor. Reasonably priced.

This was a neat experience. But set aside 2.5 to 3 hours for this. The building is off the highway. You park your car in a free parking lot, and enter the big building to buy your tickets. If you bought the Brewster full package (includes all 4 Brewster attractions), then you can bypass the long line to buy tix... More

We decided just to ride the Ice Explorers to the Athabasca Glacier, and not add the skywalk to the trip, so I can't comment on that. But as far as the Glacier Adventure is concerned, this was great! Riding in the enormous Ice Explorer trucks was a buzz in of itself. When are you going to see a machine like... More
