It was sheer awesome! an opportunity to be on top of the Athabasca glacier was just amazing! The even adventurous was the drive up to the glacier in the million $ specially designed vehicle. The only negative was the wait both at the ticket counter and then for the tour.

this new attraction opened in may this year, to great reviews, so looked forward to this as part of a road trip i was undertaking with my brother. Weather was not the best, it is an engineering marvel but personally did not get feeling that i was suspended high over the ground. still interesting interaction points about local wildlife and... It's an expensive bustrip for a bit ice. If you wonna walk on ice and learn about a glacier. Then wait for winter read a book over glaciers and walk on frozen pound.

We arrived at the centre after a blizzard and everything was rather grey and we were wondering what we were going to be doing, but once in the centre everything was very well organised and the trip was worth doing. We were issued our tickets and taken to a coach where we were transported to a special ice bus which... More

We arrived for the adventure on a sunny, clear morning. The center is crowded but ticketing and boarding the transfer bus to the over-sized vehicles for the ride to the icefields were organized. We were with Caravan Tours and our group moved together and without difficulty. Our bus driver was informative. Two big horn sheep shared the road with us... More

You get taken by bus from the centre to a transfer point, then onto specialised vehicles to drive onto the glacier. The driver gives everyone a bit of background to what you're seeing, and to the custom vehicles, which adds to the experience. Walking on the ice, seeing the crevasses and the meltwater (and even drinking some if you like)... More

a great well thought through excellently delivered experience. Very informative, enjoyable freedom on the ice, the only health and safety advise where you should go otherwise your free to explore at your risk. Good value not very expensive.

My husband wanted me to have the experience of walking out on the glacier. He had visited the same place 40 years ago and said it was memorable. Well things changed a lot in 40 years. Back then the trip seemed more like a personal, scientific expedition. Now it's very big business. The venue was unbearably crowded with busloads of... More

This was part of our tour, but it was great to have it included. They take you to the foot of the glacier in a regular bus while the driver narrates information about the glaciers. Then you move onto a special ice bus that takes you up onto the glacier and, again, the driver of this vehicle narrates. Our driver... More

As we were doing the Calgary to Vancouver RV trip this, much advertised, Experience was on our Must-Do List. We purchased a 4 attraction ticket at the Banff Gondola and at least this saved us some money. Having been in snow since we arrived in Calgary and during our stay in Banff perhaps I was not quite so 'blown away'... More
