We arrived at ticket counter for 1:30 and bought tickets for 2:45 they have a group leave every 15 minutes. The tickets for just this track were 49.95 plus tax. While waiting we had "lunch" the cafeteria style is on top floor. The food was very expensive. A hot dog was 5.95 and a grilled cheese was 6.95 no fries... More

$50 is a lot but this is such a unique experience I figured it was worth it for the 80 minute drive out onto the glacier. The Ice bus itself was fun esp. going down a 30% grade. Get here early - we were the only group on the glacier. Later in the day there could be six or more... More

The Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure was busy, but worthwhile. Riding on the coach was cool, along with actually being on the glacier and walking around. There is fresh water there. The pathway shows you where the glacier was in certain years and has many attractions. I have been there twice and loved it!

Well organised tour, we had bought our tickets as part of a pass and drove ourselves up to the centre. We arrived about 1230 and were told that was a quiet time, our bus out to the glacier attested to this. You go out to the glacier area on a regular bus then transfer to special buses that take you... This experience is around £50 each for about 1.5 hours on a variety of buses and coaches, around 15 minutes of which is spent on the glacier and another 10 minutes each way on the actual 'glacier bus'. When you arrive, depending on the time of year of course, you will no doubt be greeted by a swarm of people... More

This is a great experience the views you get being on an actual glacier are amazing . However as this facility is probably quite rare globally the place is so busy , to the point of discomfort. I was told by someone that the day i was there it was not busy by their standards

What an amazing experience! A very strange feeling to leave temperatures of 30 degrees plus in the middle of July to go up to the Glacier and be so cold at around 10 degrees and needing to put on layers. Travel up to the glacier in a snow mobile & then to walk on the glacier was a surreal experience.... More

Considering the glacier will disappear in our lifetime (or not...), it is remarkable to be able to get on it, the guides were really good and considering the short trip to the glacier they made a really decent effort to inform and impress... The special busses go down this crazy incline (lots of fun), and then drop you off in... More

Well, if you did it you can actually say - I walked on a glacier. Yes it's expensive, Yes you only get 20 minutes on the glacier itself, but it worth it! Bring worm clothes, and sunglasses to protect from the glare, another tip - bring an empty bottle and fill it up with pure ice water.

OK ...it's cool to say you actually walked on a glacier and drank glacier water. But you only get about 15-20 minutes ON the glacier. But at least you can say you did it. A lot of time is spent on the Transfer Bus and Snow Coach during transit. Tips stated in other reviews are worth repeating ... dress in... More
