Don't know how this attraction could ever receive a negative review. We've never seen a glacier or ice or snow and this 'educational' visit was outstanding. The staff were informative, friendly and attentive to questions. We liked the humour of the guides to offset the educational aspect of the tour. Time on the glacier was just right and this is... We've stopped at the Icefield many times, but this was our first time purchasing tickets for the Glacier Adventure. Our son was free (kids under 6 are free), so it was a good deal, as we also bought tickets for the Skywalk at the same time. The length of time you're on the bus far exceeds the length of time... We went to the Glacier in August 2014. It is a bit pricey but we bought the Ultimate Explorer package that includes the Banff Gondola, Banff Lake Cruise, Glacier Icefields and the Skywalk, so it was much more reasonable for each attraction ($110 for adults and $55 for ages 6-15). We had a fun driver that the kids enjoyed and... More

This is nature at its best! The adventure starts with a ride on a Snowcoach that transports you right up onto the Icefields where you get to get off the coach and walk around on a glacier that is millions of years old. Our driver, Colin was very informative about the Icefields and the Snowcoach. We really enjoyed his talk... More

Brewster tours offers tours of this attraction. There's two ways of seeing this: you can take a self-tour by walking or pay a fee, hop on one of their tour bus, and take their snow coach the rest of the way. I would recommend taking their tour but as a package with other tours such as the sky walk, Banff... More

Been there twice! While it is a bit expensive, it is worth going up at least once if you have the money. If visibility is very low, i wouldnt pay to go up. Also bring warm clothes, especially a hat and mittens, it gets chilly and windy even in the summer.

Yes, it is touristy. Who else but a tourist would hop in a specially designed bus to be driven up onto a glacier? And it delivers a unique experience for your money and time. Your first stop is the visitor center to buy tickets (there's a AAA discount if you're a member) and board the first bus that takes you... More

Be sure to stop at the Columbia icefield Glacier - AAA discount available. So much fun to walk on a glacier and the guides are very informative. Lunch and dinner are available - buffet and cafeteria dining room - food is good.

It is about two hours from Lake Louise---but the scenery is beyond majestic to get there---and there is one of those great roadside food/souvenir stations at Saskatchewan River Crossing to give you a nice break! You go up long wooden green steps to get to the "lodge" where you buy your tickets and inside it is very substantial---very nice with... More

Yes this is a popular tourist attraction and yes it is stunning to see so is recommend it from that perspective. But the whole session was marred by the constant jokes about racing the trucks, trying to turn it over and other little japes !!! Appreciate others might find it fun but I'd like to know something about the attraction... More
