I wouldn’t miss this on your trip to Banff/Jasper. The Athabasca Glacier is cool, do the Ice Explorer. The Num-Ti-Lodge has an incredible restaurant. Dinner was splendid. The lodge looks like a great place to stay overnight too. Definitely make the hike to Bow Glacier Falls from the Lodge. About 3 hrs roundtrip. Exquisite sights and photos await. Take your... more

There are at least two different ways... more

While the icefields were definitely something you should experience, the drive there was even better! It's a long drive, but definitely worth it. Take the extra time and use highway 1A,... more

We had never been on a glacier before and the guided hike that is offered at the Athabasta Glacier is worth every... more

The Columbia Icefield is one of the most amazing accumulations of ice you will ever have the chance of seeing. We went out on a tour of the Athabasca Glacier in this huge bus called a Snow Coach. It has monster-truck tires and can safely travel on a glacier. Our driver took us out for a very entertaining hour. He... more
