We took the gondola on a day that was quite cloudy in Banff at 8:00 am. It turned out to be a rare day when the low-lying clouds sat below the tops of the mountains. It was a beautiful sight. The clouds gradually cleared off as we walked up to the Cosmic Ray station and we had beautiful views on... More

You can walk to the cable car from the town but a lenthly walk although quite a nice one, prob best take your car or get a bus. The cable car is good fun so long as you aren't scared of heights and the views are amazing. Make sure you are wrapped up warm when you get to the top... More

I have already been in this mountain 5 times and I loved it each time. One of the most amazing to do in Banff if you ever visit. If you visit before may 15 then the gondola down is free until 7pm. You might want to hike in weekdays as it gets very busy during the weekend. I found the... More

We hiked to the top on early spring. The trials were still snowy at the top and the view of town from the top was great. It is about 90 minutes and quite an easy distance and grade for someone of reasonable fitness. Overall, a nice experience, but we prefer the beehive hike or plain of six glaciers hike at... More

I went up by the cable car as we were a whole family. The views are nice, but in the Canadian Rockies the lakes are the prize. The mountain deserves a visit, but it is not as stunning as the array of mind-spinning lakes to its north.

The lookout atop this mountain provides aerial views of Banff and the surrounding districts. Having visited Lake Minnewanka it was amazing to see the size of this attraction. The Banff Springs Hotel, the town of Banff and Bow River from the air provide a great view of how Banff sits within the natural environment. The mountain views also are amazing

The hike up this mountain, even though most say it's moderate, it's not that easy. It's 6km uphill, with a series of switchbacks. In the winter it can be quite icy. Overall it can be tiring. However it is really nice near the top, the snow is so sparkley and untouched (if you're the first up the mountain). You can... More

Went here in the early spring , so weather was not good , the cable car took us up through the clouds and it was snowing at the top inside the clouds. A magical experience! Would love to come back in summer.
