We took the gondola up Sulphur Mountain and enjoyed fantastic views. The sun was shining and it wasn't too windy. We went mid afternoon and were lucky to find a parking spot. Didn't have to wait long for our gondola going up or coming down which was nice. A great place to take visitors!

Take the gondola up or save $40/each and walk! It will take you an hour or two but the trail is all switchbacks so its more than manageable. If you are able - take the backside down (8km) and it will lead you to Cave and Basin.

This was my first time hiking Sulphur Mountain to Sanson Peak. I could not believe the views when making it up to the top. It literally took my breathe away. The conditions were beautiful on the way up. However hikers need to make sure they are not going off the path, some places are starting to get trampled. Getting to... More

The views from the different heights and areas of the Sulphur Mountains is majestic. You can do both - either hike up there or take the Gandola ride. I will suggest taking a Gandola ride to everyone as there are lot of steps to be climbed to reach the very top even after you take Gandola ride.

We had pre-booked our trip to the top of Sulphur Mountain. As we arrived in Banff for Calgary the tourist centre recommended that we visit the mountain straight away as the weather was meant to get worse the following day (it didn't!), We made our way up and had a great time. the views are trill superb. The walk along... More

Had to head up to have a look at the views. Great views of the surrounding area. very pretty site. Does get very busy up there so it is good to time you desent before you get caught up with the crowds.

We loved the mountain experience, the views were amazing, the animals were beautiful. BUT the other people...would not lower their voices to allow wildlife to freely roam and get close to us without being scared. I don't know about you, but when I plan a trip into the wilderness in a place where I KNOW I have the chance of... More

$100 for 2 adults and a child was a bit steep price-wise, but the 4-seater gondolas were private, and the view from the top was breathtaking. You can also climb the boardwalk to an adjacent peak and visit the old cosmic ray station. The weather was near-perfect with some low-level clouds hugging some of the peaks so the photo-ops were... The 5.5 km switback hike from the Upper Hot Springs parking lot is a hike that most people can handle. The average hiker should be able to maje the walk up in arounf 2 hours. There are a few viewing areas along the hike but the breathtaking views of the Rockies and banff below are from the top either at... More

Unfortunately we had a drizzly day with low clouds. However as it was included in the tour we all went on it. Quite fun, but only do it if the weather is good. Fast food available at the top.
