The lookout atop this mountain provides aerial views of Banff and the surrounding districts. Having visited Lake Minnewanka it was amazing to see the size of this attraction. The Banff Springs Hotel, the town of Banff and Bow River from the air provide a great view of how Banff sits within the natural environment. The mountain views also are amazing

The hike up this mountain, even though most say it's moderate, it's not that easy. It's 6km uphill, with a series of switchbacks. In the winter it can be quite icy. Overall it can be tiring. However it is really nice near the top, the snow is so sparkley and untouched (if you're the first up the mountain). You can... More

Went here in the early spring , so weather was not good , the cable car took us up through the clouds and it was snowing at the top inside the clouds. A magical experience! Would love to come back in summer.

$40 buys you a trip to the top of the mountain. Be sure to dress appropriately, wear decent boots, and charge your phone and camera batteries! Hike the wooden walkway to the observation station, it is a must. Views are amazing, interpretive plaques line the trail, and it is a beautiful walk for all age groups. Restrooms at top and... More

Took the gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain overlooking Banff. The views in all directions were spectacular, and the story of how meteorologists tracked the weather and the stars in the days before satellites was inspiring!! Well worth a visit!

Took the opportunity during our short stay in Banff to go to Sulphur Mountain - we did the gondola - fantastic views. The viewing platform was freezing and the wind was crazy, but the views spectacular - but like every in the Rockies pick you day - friends went up the day before and saw mist & clouds!

Went up to Sulphur Mountain with the Gondola as it was impossible to walk up the trail without cleats the day I was there. The way up with the cable car is breathtaking but once the summit is reached, the view is beyond anything possible to describe in words. It's simply as stunning as nature gets! No need to say... Me and my wife absolutely loved this experience. We wanted to take the trail but there was a warning issued against hiking, for that particular day (and we thanked our stars when we realized the conditions when we were on top of the mountain), so we took the Banff Gondola (will certainly return in Summer). The view from top is... More

Climbed up the mountain with two friends. We rented spikes in the banff town area for around 7 dollars. Please speak to the local ranger there to ask for the conditions up the mountain and stuff if you are planning to hike up there. Due to the snow, we were asked to rent spikes and I'm glad we did. There... More
