We had visited hot springs while traveling in Costa Rica that we loved, so when my son heard hot springs in Banff, he really wanted to go. The reviews weren't good, but we figured that while adults didn't enjoy it, it would still be fun for an 8 year old. Sadly, this was not the case. We were there just... more

I was expecting the Hot Springs to be a little more rustic and natural, not an actual pool, but it was neat to see the little waterfalls around the hot springs be so hot. The pool was pretty full with lots of kids swimming about, but most people sit around the sides and relax. The price is extremely reasonable so... more

The hot springs were refreshed about 15 years ago - and I'm not sure any maintenance has been done since .... Tiles flaking off the pool, ripped rubber lining, missing parts on the showers and the list just goes on and on ..... Add this to indifferent staff, and there certainly is little 'magic' here .... Nice if you like... more

Reading other reviews, I agree that the experience at the Banff Hot Springs would be bad if the place gets very crowded (which would be very easy as this is not a huge pool). In that regard, Miette (in Jasper) is a much better option. Lucky for me, the place was busy but not crowded. The water was a nice... more

One of the items on my "must-do" list on our recent trip to the Canadian Rockies was to soak in a natural hot spring. We decided on the Banff Upper Hot Springs as it fit best into our schedule, but now wish we had gone to Radium Hot Springs or even Miette Hot Springs instead. We went on a Saturday... more

One awesome thing we did in Banff was visit the Upper Hot Springs pool for a soak, it's an outdoor manmade pool filled with hot spring water which is soothing, healing, and relaxing. At only $7 entry fee, this is an affordable luxury (hard to find in Banff!). You can also rent a bathing suit and towel if you need... more

After moving to Banff, one of the first things I had to try was the hot springs. I’ve heard of them, seen pictures, but never experienced them before. And what a wonderful experience it was. There is nothing better than soaking in the soothing waters while enjoying the beautiful view of the mountains. The change rooms were clean and spacious,... more

After finishing skiing at Banff Feb. 17/08, we decided to go to the Upper Hot Springs...a big mistake! First, we were informed that most of the locker keys were missing but we were welcome to try to find one with a key! And if you did spot one with a key, you had better be quick because there may be... more

I can't even begin to despribe the gorgeous scenery there. It was absolutly gorgeous! The air, yes, the air was soo differant, pure. If you like to take pictures, this is a fabulous place to go. I regret not staying in the mountains for a night. There are lodges and cabins there. I will definetly go back. We took a... more

Many people who come to Banff National Park often put on visiting the Upper Hot Springs on their list. My advice, is to save yourself a few dollars and enjoy your pool hot tub instead. Reasons why: 1. The cost is becoming a bit much at approx. $9.00/per adult. This wouldn't be so bad if it included some sort of... more
