Saw some bears and wolves on this trip. Have been up and down the parkway many times -- it's a spectacular drive. Plan to take time to stop at the pull-outs for photo ops.

Awesome applies here. Just so many views and places to stop. Plenty of wildlife if you take time to look. I can't imagine not taking this drive again when we come back, since there are many places we would have preferred to linger longer.

This was an unplanned part of a recent trip to the rockies, but a very pleasant detour. Going through the icefields parkway is an amazing drive with breathtaking views in every direction. It is a long drive to or from anywhere, so make sure you fuel up beforehand as civilization and service stations are pretty scarce up there. (Not that... More

The icefields were spectacular. Being surrounded by such beauty was quite surreal.

Lakes, glaciers, mountains - picture postcard panoramas and vista after vista if the weather is good ... if its cloudy (as it was for us on day 2), then the drive can be a bit of a bore, with lots of other vehicles and RVs. You may not see much wildlife on the main highway either - Bow Valley parkway... More

Driving the Icefields Parkway is like thumbing through a coffee table book of scenic photographs. It will honestly take your breath away. It's a long drive -- several hours -- but it's worth it! Stop along the way for great photos and quick hikes. Lots of wildlife!

We did this drive, Lake Louise to Jasper & back on June 16, 2012. The water, the mountains, the glaciers, the wild life....simply stunning and if you're not from the region where you're used to these sights, it's a not to be missed experience. We saw 7 bear-- 5 black & 2 grizzly! All these out the car window practically... More

I have visited close to 60 countries and would rank this as one of the top 3 drives in the world. Every mile reveals a new beautiful vista. Make sure your digital camera batteries are fully charged - you're going to take a ton of pictures between Lake Louise and Jasper.

The most beautiful road I've ever seen!!! We rent a car in Calgary, went to Athabasca Glacier, and Banff. In the way, we saw wild life, moose, squirrels, elk and a bear!!!

When you're in banff or jasper, definetly travel this road taking you through the most stunning landscape in the vicinity, and probably far beyond. Be sure to stop at Peyto Lake.
