Stunning views, what should be a 3 to 4 hour drive from Jasper to Banff took us 6 hours. We stopped off at so many view points taking in beautiful breathtaking mountains and water falls. Do not miss the Atthabasca Falls, not the largest you may see but the most dramatic I believe. The glacier was very commercialised but still... More

We travelled by car down the Icelands Parkway from Jasper down to Emerald Lake, stopping en route at the many beautiful glacial lakes and waterfalls. Although the weather was not ideal, the scenery was fantastic and I look forward to taking this route again.

Having hired a car in Jasper, we drove from Jasper to Banff down this route. We did not start on Route !, as we had been tipped off locally that it is much better to start by going on the old road - Highway 1A and as a result we saw more wildlife and sights than we would otherwise have... More

Our recent trip to the Canadian Rockies/Vancouver saw us driving from Banff to Jasper.. This must be one of the best drives in the world, with the beautiful Lake Louise, Bow Lake, and the Atthabasca glacier clearly the highlights but at every twist and turn the views are quite spectacular. To cap it all in mid-September the road was virtually... More

a nice scenic drive if you're travelling from/to jasper/banff. lots of rivers and falls. you can pull over on the side of the road and play on the shallow streams, and pick some wild berries. please obey the speed limit, there are lots of wildlife crossing the road.

We travelled from Lake Louise village up to the Columbia Icefield stopping regularly to admire and take in the breathtaking views...however, writing about it can do it no justice. You have to see it to believe how beautiful it is. Our journey was made extra special by encountering two black bears and later a brown bear wandering through the trees... More

Other reviews say it all. We were lucky with warm, very clear September weather. The drive has multipple opportunities to stop, picnic, take photos-we went to Athabasca Falls and walked around a bit and made worthwhile stops at the Saskatchewan River Crossing overlook and at Bow Lake. A guide back in Jasper told us she'd recently ridden her bike on... More

Well known as one of the most scenic drives on the planet, we were really looking forward to this drive. We did it in both north and south directions. I thought the return journey would not be as good, but it does feel different when done in both directions. Both times the weather was quite cloudy, so not perfect for... More

This is one of my favourite drives EVER. I have done this drive and stopped at all the stops, taken at least a thousand pictures and yet my heart still skips a beat each and every time. Crowfoot Glacier, Num Tah Ja Lodge, Peyto Lake, Mistaya Canyon, Weeping Wall, and The Icefield Interpretive Centre... From Banff this drive one way... More
