We drove here from Banff to Jasper in June 2010 and loved it. It was still very white but our drive today (April 2015) was stunning. The snow had fallen over the last two days and it was a beautiful but cold (-5'C) day. We took a number of stops on our drive to Lake Peyto. The Parkway itself had... More

This has been one of the most spectacular drives I have been on, and would without doubt be the best in Canada! We started in the dark from Canmore to get to the beginning of the Icefields Parkway by sunrise. With so many stops and having to return to Canmore that day we only made it to Sunwapta Falls. My... I was fortunate enough to travel from Jasper along the Icefield parkway to Banff with a friend staying in Jasper then taking the drive through. If you get the chance this time of the year is favorable as the roads were clear the skies blue and with the sun shining the whole way the sights were spectacular. There are many... More

A very nice park road and view points. Along the road we did see a lot of wildlife, among others a black wolf and black bears. I will for sure come back.

Very scenic drive with plenty of places to stop and take pictures. Be sure to give a whole day to drive through the parkway as there are lots to see.

this has to be in the top half dozen drives in the world . if you are going to the rockies - take a bus tour - the only way to take in the views . cant see this from the train .

I go here twice annually. as an ex tractor trailer driver / avid long distance motorcyclist, I have seen the entire continent from nova scotia/pei to key west, arctic circle / alaska to san diego, and most all of it in between. This drive is one of the two most beautiful places on the entire continent in my opinion, the... More

We drive there atleast twice a year and its the best. We liked it more than Jasper. There are bunch of hotels but its best to carry your own food. The best part is there plenty of places to take rest and let kids play around.

We drove from Jasper to Banff, stopping at Athabasca falls, Columbia Icefield discovery centre, the trip onto the Glacier followed by the Glacier skywalk, then on to Banff. We spent a more time than I would have liked at the discovery centre getting tickets for the attractions, then getting coaches to go to the glacier and the Skywalk. We came... More

the view is unbelievably gorgeous in certain parts that everyone should see and experience at least once. however if you are the driver, please keep your eyes on the road and your senses on alert for sharp turns, wild animals unexpectedly on the road or coming out of the bush suddenly. the receding glacier is worth the stop and so...
