Just amazing scenery with plenty of stop off points along the way. We went as far as the Glacier adventure center to go to the skywalk and the glacier

This is a totally killer drive, not much else needs to be said. Three hours or more of literally endless perfect scenery. You cannot be disappointed. It's everything they say it is. Exceeded all expectations.

Take your time on this one, don't hurry. The drive from Banff to Jasper will give you one incredible view, but the drive back from Jasper to Banff will give you more iconic shots of the Glaciers along the way and don't forget the roadside flowers, incredible!

The snowcoach was quite a means of transport. The glacier was interesting, busy but worth a visit for anyone who has not stepped foot on a glacier before. I preferred our visit to Foxes Glacier in New Zealand but the Athabascar Glacier is worth a visit. Also go to the sky walk - not for the faint hearted. some do... More

This was an excellent, if somewhat time limited trek onto the glacier. The driver guide really knew his geomorphology / geology and provided an excellent science based commentary. We would have welcomed a slightly longer stay on the ice itself.

Go before the glaciers are gone. We drove from Banff to Jasper, spent the night, and returned to Lake Louise the next day. The views from this road are beyond spectacular -- mountains, lakes, rivers, and, of course, glaciers. Make sure you do the turn off and short hike to Peyote Lake. Stop at the Glacier Information Center and take... More

I've done a few famous drives throughout my travels (Road to Hana on Maui, Mt Evans Byway in Colorado) and the Icefields Parkway is every bit as good and probably better since the scenery only seems to get better the further you go. The variety of natural beauty is also amazing - turquoise lakes (Bow and Peyto) which are just... More

You need to see this wonderful site before it is not there anymore. We did not take the big red bus to walk out on the glacier ,we did that in Alaska, but you should try it at least once.

What a fantastic journey. Mountains, lakes, waterfalls, glaciers, wildlife, this journey has it all. We set off from jasper at 7.00am and the road was empty. By far the best time to go to avoid the traffic and crowds. At times we seemed to be the only car on the highway. Wonderful experience.

WoW !!!! WoW !!!! WoW !!!! This road has to be the most spectacular in the world. I have NEVER been so amazed in my life ! This is the most magnificent masterpiece in Canada - if not in the whole world. My husband and I both found it emotionally exhausting because of all the beauty and magnificence surrounding us....
