This drive is amazing for the sheer number and size of glaciers you can see in a short distance. The views are better on the drive south from Jasper to Banff. We made the round trip drive from Lake Louise to Maligne Lake and back on a long rainy day. We were able to stop at a few overlooks, but... More

The weather was great, the scenery was spectacular, but we saw very little wild-life ... it's all in the luck of the draw I guess. As expected, lots of other tourist buses, but our driver was great and always seemed to be either just ahead of everyone else ... or parked just that bit closer to each attraction. We travelled... My wife and I decided to drive down the Icefield Parkway on the way to Banff from Edmonton (obviously went via Jasper) It was a rainy day when we went but this didn't bother us as we decided we wouldn't stop and do any of the attractions as mainly we didn't have the time. The start of the Parkway was... More

Most people drive this beautiful route in the Rockies, which is great. But try it on a bicycle! It brought us closer to nature with the sights, sounds and smells, as well as seeing the amazing scenery unfold as we cycled, without having to look through glass! We took 4 days to cycle the 290km from Jasper to Banff in... More

We didn't know what to expect from this attraction, but nothing had prepared us for the experience of actually standing on a glacier. The whole experience was made a whole lot better by our driver Jaques, she was a bundle of energy, a great driver and such fun. She gave us the history of the ice field and glacier in... More

Amazing views of glaciers and blue, green lakes, so many that one gets bit blaze after a while. Suspended walkway interesting but if you have done the one at the Grand Canyon this is not as good, not so high and views not as spectacular but if you haven't, then do it or maybe the glacier walk instead. Don't be put... More

I would like to say it was amazing. But it was only great. All because of weather. Clouds were so low we could not see mountain peaks. I was so disappointed and angry. Weather was not on our side that day. Anyway it was still great to drive from Banff to Jasper. We have seen bears few times, elks and... More

We found this to be a very good road to drive on. The road is well maintained with plenty of stopping places to enjoy the view. Busy with holiday traffic it is not a place you want to be in a hurry, but then again, why would you want to hurry with such fantastic scenery. Started in fog & ended... More

Traveled the parkway from Lake Louise to Jasper and back stopping at many of the side trails and pull offs. Even on the three overcast and cool days, there were photo ops around every bend. Don't miss Peyto Lake from the Bow Summit. The turquoise color of the lakes will appear unreal, but they are stunning and real. In Jasper... More

The Icefields Parkway makes for a beautiful drive, but it would be easy to underestimate the size of the mountains, glaciers, and wilderness if you are planning a hike or a climb. Be prepared if you leave the road and maybe even if you leave your car. We were surprised by some bears just taking photos! Most of the mountain... More
