I have travelled the Icefields Parkway twice, once in the middle of winter and then again in summer. I preferred the summer drive as it wasnt so cold to get out of the car at every lake and take photos, although winter was beautiful as well. It took about 6hours to drive as we stopped at every opportunity to take... More

The trip is easy by car and fun. There are long stretches with no facilities so make sure you bring water and a snack in your back. There are so many beautiful places to stop, so plan to spend the whole day. We went all the way to the ice fields and took the tour up to the glacier (highly... More

Driving the Icefields Parkway is so beautiful! So many twists and turns, hills and bends....some of the views are spectacular! It's a long road from Lake Louise to Jasper, and even if you're just doing a drive, there's always great places to turn around part way. It's an easy drive if you just want to drive!

We drove here from Banff to Jasper in June 2010 and loved it. It was still very white but our drive today (April 2015) was stunning. The snow had fallen over the last two days and it was a beautiful but cold (-5'C) day. We took a number of stops on our drive to Lake Peyto. The Parkway itself had... More

This has been one of the most spectacular drives I have been on, and would without doubt be the best in Canada! We started in the dark from Canmore to get to the beginning of the Icefields Parkway by sunrise. With so many stops and having to return to Canmore that day we only made it to Sunwapta Falls. My... I was fortunate enough to travel from Jasper along the Icefield parkway to Banff with a friend staying in Jasper then taking the drive through. If you get the chance this time of the year is favorable as the roads were clear the skies blue and with the sun shining the whole way the sights were spectacular. There are many... More

A very nice park road and view points. Along the road we did see a lot of wildlife, among others a black wolf and black bears. I will for sure come back.

Very scenic drive with plenty of places to stop and take pictures. Be sure to give a whole day to drive through the parkway as there are lots to see.

this has to be in the top half dozen drives in the world . if you are going to the rockies - take a bus tour - the only way to take in the views . cant see this from the train .
