Jasper to Lake Louis, 230 km - wow, what a drive. We had great weather but the view are awesome the whole way. Scenery must be some of the best in the world ( yet to see New Zealand) with many stops and scenic views. You see waterfalls, can do short hikes, see the ice fields, see Lake Peyto (... More

Absolutely a must-do if you're in Banff: the scenery along Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper is spectacular, and there are innumerable turn-outs where you will take countless photos. Pack a picnic lunch, or enjoy refreshments at the cafe at Columbia Icefields Centre while you look out at Athabasca Glacier. You'll also see wildlife along the route (don't stop!... More

Took the bus/suv. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. No way we would have been able to hike up to the glacier. We were only allowed 20 to 30 minutes on the ice which initially disappointed me since we paid for the privilege. After 10 minutes, we were freezing despite wearing down jackets, etc. so the 20 minutes were more than... More

We were on this tour with a company called Brewsters which I had been booked via our agent in the uk Journeys A La Carte, and what an-inspired choice it was. We were very lucky that we dropped on a wonderful sunny day which showed the Rockies off to wonderful effect, our driver Mike was full of information and "extra"... More

Jaw-droppingly beautiful and rugged from start to finish with tons of stops you really have to make along the way, especially the Athabasca glacier (climb up to it) and Athabasca falls. I will treasure the memories of this journey from Banff to Jasper FOREVER. Do it. Just do it! Allow yourself the day to make the journey with all the... More

So is absolutely every roadway in the Canadian Rockies. They are all picture postcard beautiful. I guess I was disappointed because I expected even more beauty. And disappointed again at the Visitor Centers, where their museum is closed for the whole year for remodleing.

Put this on your bucket list, 3 hours driving in sheer beauty every mile. I have never been anywhere more majestic in North America. Many places to stop, I recommend stopping as much as possible. I drove from Banff to Jasper and stayed in Jasper a few days, then drove back to Lake Louise. Lots of wildlife and the parkway... More

For those of you who have travelled extensively in the Western US, as the movies say "you ain't seen nothing yet". I have been to every major National Park in the US three or four times over and thought I had seen the most remarkable sights that existed in the Northern Hemisphere. The Ice road outdoes them all. The majesty... More
