Drove northbound (Lake Louise to Jasper) for the second time. Family really enjoyed all of the wildlife (elk, moose, bears, goats) near Jasper both times. Will have to drive southbound some time.

It is interesting to me that this highway looks almost completely different depending which direction you travel! The route from Jasper to Banff highlights the glaciers and the lakes at the foot of them...the glaciers face north in general and the jutting mountains can sometimes hide them driving in a northerly direction. Traveling from Banff to Jasper is also scenic... More

we took this road on our way from banff to jasper, and it was amazing. there are million lakes on the way, glaciars on the mountains and you can see wildlife . the weather can change many times during the drive and it is often very rainy. make sure you have enough gas in your car because there are no... You wouldn't be able to describe how gorgeous this drive is! We travelled in September last year and you really won't be able to tell how amazed we were even we've seen pictures before. The more than an hour drive was the one I would never want to end! On our way we passed by several lakes and we did... More

Transferred from Banff to Jasper on the Icefield Parkway. Wow, what a journey. We had heard about the Parkway and seen photo's from other travellers. All of them saying what a trip it was. None of them wrong. Sit on the same side of the coach as the driver for the best view and have your camera at the ready.... More

The drive to and from Jasper is amazing. All the popular tourist sites are on this road but beside that the views from your car or bus window will leave you in awe. This is one of those famous drives that everyone says you must do and I agree, it is a once in a lifetime experience.

It was our first ice field experience. Very cold, very good warm clothing is a must, but is was scenic and different from a forest. The special buses take took us into this area were slow, understandably, but gives an opportunity to take in the views. As part of the tour we stepped out into the ice fields and experience... More

Drive to this spot is amazing and you will enjoy that a lot more . This place is another popular spot and the line ups are long for wait to go on the glacier. We did not go on the glacier as we have been on many such glaciers in Himalayas and also it is expensive and too long of... More

This is one of the most spectacular drives on the planet. It is approx 230 kilometers/143 miles from Banff to Jasper and every inch is surrounded by truly spectacular scenery. From Bow Lake to Peyto Lake to the Columbia Icefield to Sunwapta Falls & Athabaska Falls to many others that are so plentiful I can't recall them all. Don't think... More

Being from the Area i have done this drive many times and be it winter or summer this drive comes with extreme danagers that one must be aware of when making this trip. Winter - Simplely put don't bother unless you have winter tires & 4X4 even than understand that you are going through multiply Mountian passes that can have... More
