One of the best parts about visiting Banff and Jasper. Amazing views that make the trip twice as long as it would take because of all the stops. You are in awe of the natural beauty.

Every way you look you are surrounded by mountains with beautiful vistas. Most of the mountains will have a glacier on them. There are plenty of stops along the way for restroom breaks, food, and picture taking. The lakes along the road are truly something to see.

Most picturesque drive anywhere in the world. Breathtaking scenery and easy driving even in Summer when traffic is heaviest. Extend your trip and spend some time in Canmore and the Kannanastis country. You wil not be disappointed.

This is a road that you cannot close your eyes, mountains, glaciars, lakes, trees, animals, all what you are expecting to find in Canada is here.

Mile after mile of mountains, lakes and outstanding views. Plenty of turnouts to stop and take photos, also many hiking trails with good parking and toilet facilities. Buy a map with details of the trails if you want to get the most out of them and plan which ones you intend to hike. Make sure you allow plenty of time... More

Has been many years since i traveled jasper banff route but always in the summer . With long highway waits and overcrowded sights . Always well worth the trip that encompasses the shear beauty of the canadian rockies . Bought a new 2014 Jeep Wrangler and what better highway could i experiance in Febuary 2014 . Expect a different beauty... More

I've travelled a fair bit and I think you would challenged to find a better drive anywhere. Granted, you have to like mountains and lakes. There is some congestion in holiday/weekend periods but the road is so good it isn't too bad. Plenty of spots to stop along the way - recommend Peyto Lake, Mistaya Canyon and the Icefield Adventures.

No question the rockies are grand but the shear press of the large masses of people competing for camp spots, trails and other services is appalling and seriously detracts from the reasonable enjoyment of the mountain landscape. All of the thousands of campsites in Jasper and Banff NP's are fully taken by early morning every weekend all summer long and... More

Used a GYpSy Guide which we rented with our AVIS rental car and had fabulous commentary the whole way through the Canadian Rockies. This was the most spectacular part of the drive.

The drive from Jasper to Banff is so scenic. It must be one of the best long drives in the world. There is a wow factor after every bend. Also, there are so many attractions worth stopping for, that it took us 12 hours to get from Jasper to Banff. I wish we had more time for this drive.
