We generally avoid large tour operators and big groups like the plague, but wanted a scenic horseback ride and wanted to see Lake Agnes, so, we booked a ride through the stable on the Chateau property at Lake Louise through Brewster Adventures. The staff at the stable was sharp and efficient and got us onto horses with no issues. Big... More

This is a fantastic walk via Mirror lake up to Lake Agnes. You can sit and buy tea here if you choose. We pushed on around the lake and followed the trail up to Big Beehive. We are an elderly couple, but taken slowly this walk is well worth the effort and one of the best we have done. The... More

Second visit to magnificent Lake Louise. Last visit was short so only managed the lake walk but this time was determined to make it to one of the famous tea houses. Decided on Lake Agnes and off we set with plenty of water, a couple of muffins and a camera. Being a fairly unfit person in late 50s the first... More

It is a 3.5km hike up a hill to 2,100m to see the lake. Very often we asked ourselves if it is worth it as the hike up as it is not an easy walk. The elevation only gets tougher as you go higher up. Take a rest at Lake Mirror before pushing the last 800m to 1km (20min) to... More

The trail is moderately steep to the tea house, but has a few nice opportunities to view Lake Louise and surrounding mountains. The lake gets smaller and smaller. The trail is very popular. Nice lake on the way to the tea house. The dog enjoyed a little dip. Tea house had no where to sit as it was packed with... More

There is a great reward available to anyone willing to climb up to Lake Agnes. Not only is this lake experience a visual oasis for the senses that must be seen and experienced to believe, but also there is a literal oasis in the small tea house that sits on the lake. There is something magical that happens when you... More

Most people visiting Lake Louise stop at the lakeshore, drink it in, then pile back in the car or bus and head off. If you have a bit more time, it is a lot nicer to get up into the trees and do some hiking. My preferred trail is out to the Plain of Six Glaciers, where you are almost... More

This is a beautiful hike, the quintessential Canadian mountain experience. We chose this hike over the Plain of the Six Glaciers because it was a bit shorter and we are not experienced hikers. We need not have worried, the climb was moderately strenuous, but fairly smooth and even in most places. We reached the Tea House in about 1.5 hours,... More

I did this this hike several times. But you need to combine together with small or big Beehive. Small beehive is only another 1.2km from Lake Agnes. Halfway you see a stunning little mirror lake afterwards small waterfall and Lake Agnes. If you head up to small beehive you get to see all three - Lake Louise, mirror lake and... More

It's what i called 'civilized hiking". Work like a dog to get to the top, but then you sit down and have tea and cookies before returning to the bottom. Be aware-the elevation gain is equivalent to 130 stories! Not as many view points as most hikes. It is paved.
