Owner description: Sunshine Village sits high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff National Park, and is just minutes from the mountain town of Banff. Three sprawling mountains provide breathtaking sitelines, uninterrupted by any signs of civilization beyond the resort's leasehold. Ski or ride in Alberta and British Columbia in one run. Sunshine Village's seven-month season stretches from early November until late May - the longest non-glacial season in Canada. The Village's altitude of 7,082 feet ensures the snow stays dry. Sunshine can receive up to nine metres (30 feet) of snow in a season, and it stays all year.

Im a pretty intermediate snowboarder (not bad not amazing) and this mountain was hell for me. Was there with my family yesterday but am passing up today because I would rather sit in my hotel room. Pros: 1. Interesting gondola ride up, cool sights to see but can be annoying as I forgot my wallet in the car and "running... More

The snow is better here, but we preferred the terrain better at Lake Louise. There were quite a bit of 'dead' flat areas here where you have to be going pretty fast, otherwise you will find yourself hiking a bit! Make sure to take the tram down to the bottom at the end of the day as there is only... More

Overall - My third best ski resort in Banff, after Lake Louise and Mt. Norquay (some of you may disagree) Good - The days I skied this year was like any skier's wish, we had fresh snow continuously for a few days. Being my first time in Banff I wanted to go check out Sunshine for all its hype. I... More

Looking to take my family (3 kids) on a ski vacation in mid-late April I faced the possibility of skiing on grass and slush. Utah, CO and Whistler can all be great or maybe no so much in April. Friends pointed us to Banff (Sunshine & Lake Louise) and it was, in a word, awesome. Sunshine is kind of a... More

Good afternoon Rob, I'm so glad you and your family were able to experience the fantastic spring skiing that Sunshine Village has to offer in April! You’ll have to stay at our ski-in, ski-out hotel next time, so you don’t have to go very far if someone forgets something (like their ski pants). I appreciate the constructive feedback you included... More

I've had a love/hate with sunshine for years. Here's the downlow; Pros; - Somewhere on one of the mountains, there will be good snow. Always. - They make no snow, so they put up super fun snow fences which make super fun drifts - There is rarely long lineups (except weekends and xmas week) - Suuuuuuuper long season - Some... More

Thanks for the review of Sunshine Village. We’re happy to hear that you enjoy our long season and that you appreciate the short lift lines we offer. Happy to hear you enjoy our snow farming fences as well; Sunshine Village puts up and takes down over 40km of fencing each year to capture the dry, light natural snow the area... More

Better than Sulpher Mountain! Includes Shuttle bus from Banff, the Gondola ride and Angel Express Chair nearly to the top, and a $12 meal credit for the day lodge that includes alcoholic beverages - for only a few dollars more than Sulpher Mountain Gondola. It makes almost a full day out and is perfect for non-skiers who want to experience... More

they get lots of snow during the winter (more than Lake Louise) but I find their runs are not as long as at Lake Louise therefore you stand in lift lines longer. It's a fabulous place to ski and there's a hotel/resort at the top. You take a condola ride to get to the base of the ski hills so... More

I felt compelled to join tripadvisor to give credit where credit is due - A huge thanks to Adam Cauldwell (...I think that's the spelling of his last name..!) snowboard instructor at Sunshine for my lesson on Thursday! The skiing in Alberta and the Canadian Rockies is world-class and Sunshine is a place you can't miss. Starting with a beautiful gondola ride to the middle of the mountain where the lodge is, it offers the ability to ski in two different properties as well as the continental divide. Jaw-dropping views, fabulous skiing and world-class service. Need I say... More
