Description: Sunshine Village sits high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff...
Sunshine Village sits high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff National Park, and is just minutes from the mountain town of Banff. Three sprawling mountains provide breathtaking sitelines, uninterrupted by any signs of civilization beyond the resort's leasehold. Ski or ride in Alberta and British Columbia in one run. Sunshine Village's seven-month season stretches from early November until late May - the longest non-glacial season in Canada. The Village's altitude of 7,082 feet ensures the snow stays dry. Sunshine can receive up to nine metres (30 feet) of snow in a season, and it stays all year.

Let me start by saying the snow in Banff this year stinks and thats not the resort's fault, but out of the local resorts the snow here was the best and I believe this resort averages more snow on the average year than any other in the area. The runs are not as long as at Lake Louise but there... More

My son and I stayed and skied at the mountain lodge for two days last week. This was my second time at the resort. This is the best skiing you will find out west. So many options where and how to ski. The breathtaking views from our room and any of the lifts will make it a trip to remember.... More

Great to hear you and your son enjoyed your time at Sunshine Village and the Sunshine Mountain Lodge! We have been very lucky with the amount of snow we’ve received so far this season and we are able to hold on to this snow due to our unique location on the Continental Divide. Thanks for all your comments—please know they... More

My partner and I both took the 3hr free guided tour of the ski resort... we'd both recommend it. They split up the groups into skill level, usually blue, blue/black and black. I wasn't going to do it because I'm more of a green/blue skier, but 2 other people wanted to do an "easy blue" tour, so they were happy... More

Great amenities, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I did, although, find the runs to be way too icy for my liking, and it has been in the past, too.

We didn't hit the jackpot with the snow yet enjoyed it tremendously. Spending 80% of our time off-piste for two days, we didn't even scratch the surface of their amazing terrain. A relaxing and almost flat hike from the Wawa lift gave us access to beautiful powder 5 days after a snowfall, and a few first turns of the Delirium... More

Sunshine continues to have great conditions even with all of the warm weather in Western Canada. If you are reconsidering your ski vacation this year, don’t overlook this resort. The high altitude has truly set it apart from the other hills. There’s a great energy on the hill this year, I have connected with far more people on the lifts... More

This is our favourite place to ski. I like this place because the whole family can ski together the whole day and dad is doing double blacks with son and mom can do easy blues with daughter in the a same time :-) The other thing that I have lost my GoPro camera the other day, and they found it... Loads of Black Diamond, Double Black Diamond and Free skiing ( You need training, transponder and avalanche kit to ski Delerium Dive) Blue Runs for the less experianced but I think this resort is best for a more experianced skiier.

There's some debate about whether Sunshine or Lake Louise is the best ski resort in the Banff National Park. We visited Sunshine on 4 days of our trip and it only lived up to its name on half of one of those days. The rest of the time, much of the skiing was above the treeline and in cloud, which... More

I had a great skiing trip with my school and I had the instructor Jake. I'm unsure on his second name which I really want to find out because I want to contact him to tell him how great an instructor he was. But aside from that the views and slops where absolutely unbelievable!

Thanks for the review, David! I have already passed on your compliments to our Ski School team, so they may share this with Jake. So glad to hear you enjoyed the views-- we are very lucky to get to play in one of the most beautiful places in the world and I'm happy to hear you agree. See you again... More
